The above is so not true. Im female and love the surge.
I would go to a store and look at them. That would be the only way to tell if the surge is to big for your taste

Any suggestions?

I love my Flex but I am looking to upgrade to the Charge HR soon. The Flex is really nice if you're just starting out. I was pretty sedentary before my fitbit and had a terrible diet. Now I'm making a lot of changes to my work out routine and diet because of my Flex. The Charge HR seems to be nice because [it has a watch and] it measures your activity levels beyond steps and manual logs. It measures your heart rate throughout the day, which I think is really cool. Plus, the Charge HR knows when you're sleeping so you don't have to manually set it to sleep mode like you do with the Flex.
I wouldn't personally buy the Surge because it would be too big on my wrist and because it's expensive. Plus I'm not an athelete, so I can't justify buying it. Though, if you're really into fitness and want to maximize your Fitbit experience, the Surge might work for you. And yeah, I don't think your gender should decide which Fitbit you go with... that's just strange.

Don't focus on weight alone, while there can be fat loss, by working out, muscles can grow, become stronger.. the 'weight' can be about the same, since the weight loss in body fat can have been compensated by a increase in muscles.
In addition, there can also be food remnants (up to a few pounds) left inside our tummies from previous day(s), possible water upkeep, dehydration,.. natural fluctuations..
Keep a eye that body fat decreases, while working out to keep / gain lean mass..
No need to eat directly after working out. Try listening to your amazing body when it needs nourishment (food), telling when being hungry and try not eating more when feeling satisfied (not stuffed).
Aim to eat 90% nutritient rich foods (lower in calories, while providing our bodies with mostly all nutritients it needs) (only when your body desires) (fruits, vegetables, lean meats..) while having anything else in moderation (to prevent binging).
When your body says 'we're satisfied', don't need anything more (even when the food plan says 'you can force feed yourself now since there's hundreds of calories left'.. trust your body instead, it's possible to overeat when your body is satisfied, no matter what the plan says.
It's also possible when being sick, our bodies want us to fast automaticly, having no appetite, hunger signals.. so instead of focusing on digesting all the food (when eating several times a day), our bodies can then focus all energy on healing itself.
In case of not having any appetite, or experiencing no hunger.. allow to have lighter several nutritient rich meals, keeping a eye upon (until hunger / appetite) naturally returns.
Food isn't the enemy, it's energy for survival. Your amazing body is your partner who you can trust (regarding food choices, telling when hungry / having enough..)..
Enjoy

@Tamfitness Most people use My Fitness pal and link it to here. The data base is better.

Thank you everyone:) ok now another question.. Do you log good in the fitbit app or do you all use something else
I use My Fitness Pal. I like the database better. It does drive me nuts that I have to use two apps but I can't seem to force myself to switch to only using Fitbit.

Ok I'll put my two cents in too. I bought a One a couple weeks ago. I love it. It is already helping me stay more aware of what I eat and how much I move (steps). I have sleep issues and it helps with this some too. But, because many of my sleep issues have to do with when and where I fall asleep, I don't always know I have been asleep until I wake up! So I am getting the Charge this week too so I can find out how much of my sleep is really in bed and at night and how much happens in the daytime elsewhere. The Charge detect when you are asleep vs. the One which you have to tell you are going to sleep. I will see how this all works out, but I think all the fitbits seem to be great proucts, Just think about what you want them to help you with before you decide.

I wouldn't get the "Charge" if what you want to track is your sleep - that would be overkill and I don't even think it is particularly good at detecting sleep. I have the Charge HR and am very happy with it. It has made me much more active and I am now using the fitbit site to log my food. I like having it all in one place and I started logging it here so I will continue.
I wanted to monitor my sleep also, and I thought the Charge HR would help me. You don't have to tell it you are going to sleep it just recognizes that you are sleeping. The only thing is that the information is not particularly helpful in terms of feeling whether I had a good night sleep. There are nights where I would say I slept well where the app shows lots of disturbed sleep and other nights where I felt I never got into a deep sleep and woke up exhausted where the app says I slept soundly. Also, it can register my time at the computer or drinking my coffee as sleep time because I am not moving much. All in all, although getting a grasp of how much I sleep was part of the reason I got the fitbit, it has not helped me much in this area.
