Hey! I was wondering if anyone was doing the P90X3 diet? If so I could use some help. For one I don't believe the calories it says I can have, seems high. My goal is to lose weight. I'm meal plan C. Example for breakfast it says 2 protien, 4 carb, and 2 fat. Does this mean two things from protien list, four things from carbs and two fats. I don't mean to sound stupid it just seems like alot at one time. P90X3 is only 3 meals and 2 snacks a day maybe this is why you can have more. Any help appreciated and TY.

I found the P90X diet to have too many calories for me to lose weight....or at least at a steady rate....like 1.5 pounds per week.

Hello Abrouty,
My wife and I have just started P90x3 and so far enjoying it! I am an advocate team beach body product user. I am not a TeamBB Couch and I am not trying to sell you anything. I started from P90x to insanity, insanity asylum and asylum 2, Turbofire, T25 and P90x3. I have tried the diet with the original P90X and with the Insanity. I personal didn't like it and wasn't losing the weight I wanted. But to answer your question away. The diet plan that the beachbody offers are pretty much similar for one workout program to the next. It is based on Calories in and Calories out, with modification depending on how active you are during the day. In most cases people tend to workout during the morning and usually are more active from mornings to afternoon. You have the rest of the day to burn your calories, but again depending on what you do at work. It doesn't seem like great diet if you work at the desk and set there all day. So that come in what I do and which way I really don't care for the beachbody diet plan. I set in th office desk 8 hours a day. However I do try to say active during my lunch by running or doing something active like working around a department store. Anyways the diet is also leads you to question why am I not losing any weight which probably will make you research to find answers. Which is what I did and found out that the diet worked better with Shakeology. Again it is an extra expense you have to come up with. Now not saying it doesn't work, it actually works pretty well, but much better alternatives are out there. However if you still want to stick with the P90x3 diet plan would suggest on going with your gut instinct. As you are correct on judging the calories are too high. I would recommend on lowering the protein Calorie content to one and one carb and stick with two fats. Reason are that protein are harder to break down, so it will take longer for your body to burn it. Carbs are faster to burn, however depending on what kind of carbs. And the fats are essential to your body to lose weight. The science about fat is much complicated so I'm not going to bored you. If you like to know more about it I will recommend reading the link (listed below). Now if you are wondering what I would recommend for a diet. So here it goes. The diet I am on for 3 years have worked wonderfully. I lost 30 pounds within two months. And it is simple (DON'T EAT WHEAT PRODUCTS). You can modify this diet anyway you like. So I recommend reading the links I have posted. Anyways good luck with everything and hope the information helps!
Mark Daily Apple: free information, however the book does cost you, but a great read. This is a modified paleo diet that you may have heard.

Bulletproof Diet: Great information much more complicated then paleo diet. I would diffidently try this after you have gotten down the primal diet down. However the intermediate fasting is what I am doing and have lost and lean down quite a bit.

Thanks Everyone! Just wish winter would leave so I could easily ignore the urge to eat at night. Do ok all day but at night I seem hungrier. I'm not eating because I'm bored either only when hungry. Doing P90X3 in am, work 7-3 or longer, house work, 30 minutes on my home gym lifting heavy, then bed. Maybe it's from all my activity, don't know I always feel like a hungry hippo.

If you're doing a heavy lifting session at night you should be having a protein shake or some sort of snack with protein and carbs right after that to fuel your body so it can repair itself. Are you eating 5-6 times a day? That might help keep you from wanting to snack at night also.
