Is weight loss calculated only on Calories In - Calories Out

If I consume 1,200 calories per day, and FitBit shows that I've burned 1,500, is that a 300 calorie deficit, or do I actually burn calories whether or not a work out.   It takes 3,500 calories to lose a pound.

Thanks!

You are correct. In your example that is a 300 calorie deficit.

If you log your food into fitbit too you can set a weight plan to manage your daily deficit.
