Hello and welcome to the 1st challenge of 2021!
Besides celebrating our scaled and non-scaled victories and progress with our physical selves, I want to try something new for 2021, I want to add an extra challenge (suggested by my hubby). Choose something you can do every day for yourself to add a bit of brightness and joy to your life. Like to read but haven't lately? Pick a book and spend 10 to 15 minutes with it. Like to craft, color, paint, sing, dance, bake, cook, spend time in prayer? Well, you get the idea. Do it for YOU, every day. Let us know what you're doing and how doing it more is affecting you.
Anyone is welcome to join in at any time, just hit reply on the most recent post and let us know a bit about yourself.
Following are some acronyms typically used by those who post. Some of us also track body fat or measurements, etc. please add those as you wish.
USW - Ultimate start weight
SW - starting weight for this challenge
CW - current weight
PW - previous week's weight/weigh-in
LW - last weight/weigh-in
GW - goal weight for the challenge
MGW - mini goal weight
UGW- ultimate goal weight
To join the challenge, please just hit 'reply' and post!
If you want to respond to or 'tag' a particular person with your response, type in @ and you will get a drop down box of recent users to choose from, this will alert them that someone has responded to something they posted and we will all see who you are talking to or about. For example: @_Lilac_ hope to see you here!

Hi everyone! Four weeks to go on this challenge, how are you all doing? The very last of our Christmas decorations got put away yesterday so I'm hoping to be able to set up my jigsaw puzzle this weekend. I really need to find something to do that isn't using a screen, though I have been reading more. At work I use my son's kindle and at home I have a <gasp> real book! Yes, I am reading two different books at the same time, something that started when I was very young. I would have a book in almost every room and would read whichever one was closest.
My eating has not been great as my mind set is still not back to where I was prior to the holidays, but I am better than I was during the holidays. Movement has been minimal because this time of year is bad for my knee and I'm still dealing with heel pain (getting closer to seeing a doctor about that). The weather doesn't help much either. Freezing rain and snow today.
Hope you all have a wonderful Friday!

I weighed 117.6 this morning. I am happy today. I got the first virus vaccine shot and appointment for another Feb. 5. I have been reading only paper books for about a year as part of my major declutter effort to empty my house for my daughter to inherit. However one failure was reading all my Dick Francis books over again because I have forgotten them after all these years. He is such a great writer. I only read 2 out of 40 that I didn't enjoy.
I took a car trunk full of clothes, shoes and purses to Goodwill today. In future 2 or 3 small vertical solid neutral colored purses will be all I want. I gave away 18 that were too big for me. And after wearing unchosen shoes around the house while vacuuming and cooking etc I gave away a bunch that didn't feel good. The less stuff in my closet the less time wasted in there.. It gets better every day.
I just learned here, trying to reply to Cele21, that if a forum will not let you reply, click the thumbs up vote box and then you can reply

@Glenda - Good for you on the decluttering! One of my personal goals is to clear out all of the stuff our kids don't want before something happens to us and they are stuck with deciding what to do with it all.
Progress this week was good weight wise but only so-so on all other goals/plans. Looks like I won't be getting to my jigsaw puzzle this weekend as some other things came up. I have been reading more so that is a plus. Now to see what I can declutter today....

Down just a bit. Still struggling with focus, need to find my new 'why' to drive my mind set. This past week was pretty much a re-run of the week before. Some soda, some fast food, not enough movement because of knee/heel pain, etc.
@DuskVigil - You have a great attitude about not giving up! This is a journey and not a sprint. We are all in it together and in seven years on Fitbit I have not seen anyone lose the weight they wanted to in a short amount of time. It is a game of ounce to pound to five pounds, etc. I know you can get to where you want to be if you just keep chugging along.

Two weeks to go in this challenge!
I had better eating but not as much movement as I needed this past week. Too much pain in my knee and ankle to walk much.
I will be icing and resting more this week but plan on continuing to improve my eating as well as upping my water intake.
Have a glorious week everyone!

My weight went up 4 pounds instead of down. How do we let this happen??? Heck, but I've been a tower of will power and determination since I was shocked into action and am back to START!!! However, I have finally noticed I eat out of boredom some. I'm going to try to quit doing that.

Hey guys! A bit new to the Fitbit community myself, but I'm doing my best to take all the steps I can in order to lose weight - I've talked about it for a long time, I want to finally do it!
I'm an ex-athlete and am nearing 25, and the combination of the two has caused me to put on some weight where I was previously able to keep it off. I love the idea of adding on a little hobby to brighten up life, therefore I want to begin to pursue yoga/meditation! I need some zen in my life.
Here's my stats:
USW: 189.8
SW: 189.8
CW:189.8
PW: 192.0
LW: 191.1
GW (for the end of the year, I'm guessing): 150 (ish)
MGW: 185.0 in a month?
UGW: 130.0
So pumped to be here!
