Welcome one and all to our next challenge for better health and weight loss or maintenence.
We gather here to support each other, cheering and empathizing with the process of life style
change to improve our health and quality of life.
Set reasonable goals so you can feel success.
USW= heaviest weight when you began to lose
SW=starting weight
CW=current weight
GW=goal weight for Labor Day
UGW = Ultimate goal weight - long term healthy weight goal
Some people include their BMI = Body Mass Index, and some add their height as well.
You can stop by once a week and post your progress or every day to get and give ideas and support.
Most people track their food intake as well as steps to make sure you burn at least 500 to 750 more calories than you consume. Remember eat healthy food and portions in a way that you can maintain.
We can do this together. We have seen great progress over the last 7 challenges.
Welcome.

weigh in day - back on track & feelng better. Had my follow-up appt this week (had surgery almost a month ago now) and it went well. Still healing & should be back to full lifting capabilities soon...which is good because it's almost time to bale hay again!
Last Thursday - I decided to join Weight Watchers online. And I'm pleased with this weeks progress...down 1.2# and was even able to go out to eat at Texas RoadHouse!! Next week, I am going to look at going to the YMCA over my lunch break. I am a member in my hometown but work in a different county...I am being told that I can still use my pass - yea!!!
Hope everyone is doing well, keep your eye on the prize (YOU!) and keep moving forward!!

Of course you risk standing on your head if you turn it in the wrong direction.

Good job on resisting those pizza adds, KC! My husband said that sometimes we need to demonize sertain foods in order to resist them. I have been doing that with most things that qualify as "white color foods": sugar, flower (in any form!), rice, patatoes, animal fat. It helped me a lot when I was overseas. I am still staying away from them.
I received this article in my email today and thought I'd share it for anyone who may find it helpful: http://diet.mayoclinic.org/diet/eat/follow-the-mayo-clinic-healthy-weight-pyramid?xid=nl_MayoClinicD...
Keep it up!

Haven't posted my weight for a couple weeks. I know I went up because of stress eating and water retention. I was higher than this and didn't want to actually admit it. I know it's only a number but sometimes it still seems so much bigger.

Well this morning I finally cracked the 200s and got the 65# badge. A big thanks to everyone in this community for all of your contributions (very inspiring and its what keeps me going) I might be back in the 300s tomorrow, in a week, a month or even a year from now but I'm not planning on returning that direction on the scale. Nobody knows. Even though I'm currently in the 200s I will ALWAYS associate myself in the 300s. I'm still putting soap on cookies so I don't eat them (did so just the other day) because some old habits never die they just hibernate. Nothing wrong with a 30 year hibernation.
My plans today are to donate all my 4xl (28 in total) tshirts into the clothing recycling bin and buy a couple of 3XLs to replace them and maybe 1 or 2 2XLs to give me motivation for the next hurdle and maybe a nice walk with the dog.
My only advice to anyone new in the fitbit community or currently struggling is to check in at least on a weekly basis. Have a great week and do everything perfectly? Great check in. Have a challenging week? Check in. Travelling and don't have access to a scale that can record your weight? Check in. Have a challenging 2nd week in a row? Check in regardless. Someone stole your laptop? Go to the library and check in. Can't stand someone else that might be in the same group or discussion as you, Check in. Unless the fitbit servers go down, Im posting.
Enjoy your Sunday and enjoy your journey

@Chlz1997 So glad that your recovery is going well. It must feel good to know that you're almost 100% again. And thanks for your reply to my "overwhelmed again" post last week. Every reply helped, it's just nice to know that people are so caring.

@RubyH Have a great trip and I hope the wedding goes perfectly. I love your last line about not letting anyone steal your achievements and Never Give Up. I think I'm going to print out the Never Give Up line and post it somewhere.

Today's check-in... I'm tempted to use my weight from today because it was 190.4, and that's the lowest I've been since my Mom became ill. I think I got that from not eating a lot in 3 or so hours before going to sleep. I'm going to pay attention and see if that is correlated on a regular basis. I'm hanging in, having some bad days and some okay ones stress-wise. My siblings have really disappointed me lately but I'm trying to just accept the way things are and not let it get to me so much. My birthday is today and my big plans are to go to the gym! I haven't been there for almost 2 weeks and I feel so much better when I go regularly, so that's a good birthday present to myself.

Weekly update!
USW 199lbs
GW 181.4lbs
UGW 140lbs
PW (last week) 181.6 lbs
SW (for this challenge) 191.4 lbs
CW 180.4 lbs
New GW starting this week is 178 lbs, slacked a little this weekend. Yesterday was a shopping day and cookout. Which involved some unhealthy options. Good news is that even though I had not the best food, I had self-control and kept things down to one portion.
