Just wondering if there are any older women trying the Fitbit, I am 70 and just started.

Looking to see if anyone else my age is trying the fitbit to lose weight, I am 70 but I do workout with a personal trainer and take Yoga.

I am 75 and I am not just starting but I am restarting.  I can't do 10,000 steps a day so I started at 3,000 in January and went to 3,500 in March.  I'm now changing the goal to 4,000 a day.  I live alone, don't work outside of my home, and grand kids are more than 50 miles away  so I don't normally do a lot of walking.  But with my Fitbit I have engaged a friend to walk with me every (well almost every) weekday morning.
If you're serious I think you'll be happy with your decision to try the Fitbit.  I am.

OOOPS my bad.  I thought this was a new question.  Disregard my last sentence.  But the rest of my  "reply" is accurate

I love my Fitbit, it encourages me to do more than I would without it. I get in challenges with others for step goals but they are usually younger than me and I can’t win. But I certainly do more with the Fitbit. It’s very motivating. I love it!

I am 80 and have been using my Fitbit for quite some time.  It encourages me to walk at least 10,000 steps a day (if not more.)

I need to lose a large amount of weight too BUT not as large as before.  My Fitbit doesn't seem to do much for weight loss but it is really helping me lose inches.  And guess what?   Nobody sees my scale but everyone sees my smaller body so I'm all for the Fitbit!!!

Thanks for your response. I need al the support can get. I am unable to walk without the assistance of my walker or having something to hold (chair, wall; etc.

I wonder if you would like having a recumbent stationary bike.  You might be able to get more exercise safely.  I can read a book while riding mine.  I don't walk as well as I did last year.  I'm 79 until June.

I'm 7 and I've tried for several years to lose weight. Due to Medical reasons I am unable to walk with my walker. I'm hoping this will help me lose weight & enable me to become more active.

Had a typo in my last reply. I'm 79 not 7.

Perhaps but I'm not sure I could handle it at the present time. It's a goal to work toward.

Cyndigm,  Lots of exercise equipment isn't used.  I bought my first stationary bike for $25.  You might be able to buy a recumbent bike just to try for a while very cheap if you check green sheets etc.  Or put in an ad yourself.   I like the recumbent better than my first upright or regular style bike, (which I gave away)..  I have a treadmill, but I can't do that so much any more.  Sitting down is better. LOL  A doctor told me to ride my bike 10 minutes a day, which is such a doable goal I actually do it.  Glenda
