Excellent progress and a downward dog bow to you. This is so wonderful that you are choosing health and surprising yourself. You can keep going just like you are and arrive and stay at your healthiest weight. Why not? Reward yourself with non food treats. What might that be for you?
We are doing this together.

cool Rob,
Congrats. You notice a difference already so that is amazing. Stay with us and keep going and we will all hit home runs. Isn't it easier doing it together? The couch is a thief and steals our time. health and energy just like junk food. Each success shared lifts my spirits and confirms that we can do it.
Amazing,

2nd Update
Darn it! We went away this weekend, and that bad combo of too much eating & drinking and not enough exercise has moved me into the wrong direction.
SW: 163
CW: 163.8
C GW: 149
GW: 139
I do believe if I get back on track, I will still make the labor day challenge goal. But I'm REALLY going to have to step it up. I'm ordered the fitbit Charge HR, so I can start to track calorie burn when doing intense exercise again, and plan to burn 3500 cals a week through workouts, not just walking. Tonight i'm going to try Cardio Tennis for the first time in about 4 years, it's a great tough workout, but I'm really nervous because I am quite out of shape! Wish me well. I'll report back tomorrow.

Wordwhim,
Pace yourself in cardio tennis. You want to build strength, and coordination back. Sounds like you need to be wise in the eating department. I know it is hard to resist when everyone else is partying but it makes you strong inside. You can lose 6-9 lbs. by LD right?
Best,
Barb

MsBJ and Coleen,
Welcome to our supportive discussion. Lot's of us walking, dancing, cycling and working out and eating healthfully. What are you doing differently now to lose the extra fat? Have you changed what you eat and how many steps you take?
We are doing it together.
Best,
Barb

@dancefoxtrot yes I will pace myself with the cardio tennis. I plan to bring a big water, and take breaks as needed.
I know what you mean about needing to get the food in check. It is just so tempting to eat and drink along with everyone else. Group situations are the most challenging for me. I can do fine at home. I'm going to try a little 3 week challenge of no alcohol, that is where I get a lot of my empty calories, and often it's the gateway to mindless snacking which brings on even more calories.

Thanks so much! Yes I am quite happy about the downward dog and being able to follow a full class, even if it was slow.
Oh and today I earned my 50 lbs lost badge.
Pretty cool to know that I am half way there. And it just July. 🙂
My non-food reward was definitely YARN today. 🙂 I am a knitter and got myself some lucious wool/silk yarn to make a fall sweater out of it. 🙂
The other non food reward was, that my old summer dress fit me again and I wore it proudly. It's figure "hugging" and I wore it proudly. 🙂

@Mermaid3011 Way to go on so many great things. 50 # loss badge! that is fantastic! Awesome that you did a non food reward. I like Yarn too. In fact I have a friend who dyes yarn and has made a business out of it! She's called The Plucky Knitter (I helped her come up with the name) she has great colors. I knit a little bit, but I don't think I could tackle a sweater, maybe this winter.
I survived Cardio Tennis last night, I was a little confused, because I thought it was on the indoor courts, but NO ONE was there! So I asked and it was outdoors, YIKES it was around 90 yesterday! Thankfully there was a bit of shade and our instructor made sure we took LOTS of water breaks. I forgot how much I love that class! I got a ton of steps in, and it felt great. I think I'm going to do that class regularly.

Kudos to you for the 50 lb badge. That is an awesome acheivement. If you keep up this pace you will be a whole new woman in 2016. How healthy is that! New yarn and a summer dress to get into. Hooray. My knitting and cochetting skills are limited to scarves and they are still varying in width.
Thanks for sharing such good news.

wordwhimsy,
Wow you nailed the process of drinking weakening our resolve to eat mindfully. I bet that you can have a fun time without the booze. It might be interesting to think through what about group situations triggers you. Is it peer pressure, social discomfort or what? It might be eye opening to figure out if your anxious in a crowd but why? Fear of judgment, looking foolish, not being popular or respected? Most of us have some other people concerns.
I get a little distant in some crowds to protect myself I notice.
If you choose health each minute, you can make your goals. One hour at a time and you can do it.
Best,
Barbara

noooooooo You know the Plucky Knitter?!? Wow I do own yarn from her and she DOES make amazing colours!!! How cool is that? I just updated my ravelry stash with a skein of her MCN in Isle! Yummy!
And wow good for you to go to play Tennis in this heat!! We are having the hottest week of the year I believe right now - We also have 90 F (33 C) feeling with the humidex like 104 F (40 C).
I am only taking short walks with my dog cause even he is too hot.

Thank you so much for always beeing such a kind and supporting friend!
And yes, I already feel like a new woman after losing 50 lbs. My self esteem has gotten a big boost and for the first time I feel comfortable being (shhh... nude) in front of my new boyfriend. 🙂
I also have to say again though: without my GPs help and the medication she prescribed me I wouldnt do so well and definitely eat more - especially in social settings or when I am stressed. Of course taking meds for 10 or 20 lbs is definitely not worth it, but with 50+ to lose and the choice between future obesity diseases like heart attack, diabetes II and such, the risk of taking a med far outweighs the risk of obesity. I am 38 now and I feel it's now or never.

UGW: 180 (November 7th) Daughter's birthday and the week before the wedding!
180 is my short term goal weight, started out on June 16, 2015. Quit smoking, started working out, drastically reduced my use of Facebook and social media, and healthier eating, . So far so good 🙂 I have two kids and I want to be happy and healthy for them.
I'm hoping to hit my goal of 180 by November for a old friend's wedding to surprise all my old classmates!
