I have dropped a full 4 sizes! Down from size 18/19 to a 14/15 🙂 I'm getting excited for the next challenge. I'm hoping I will be able to meet my goal this next challenge, kinda bummed I'm not going to be able to be out of the 200's by Labor Day but still happy that I'm losing, not gaining nonetheless.

Not sure if any of you experience pain in your shins and arches in your feet when working out/walking/etc. but I just bought a pair of runing shoes with memory foam...hands down the best invention ever!!! Being able to only run a few minutes now allows me alot more time. I highly recommend them!

Best Answer

@awood08  200s, shmoohundreds!  Look how much you have done!  That is amazing!

I had major struggles with torn achilles and plantar fascia so ...tell me about those shoes, please.  I was told to use inserts that are very solid and have a good arch to keep my foot in place and those have worked well so far.  But I am always trying to learn more so I can prevent this from ever happening again.  It was totally debilitating.  Where do you get those shoes.

More important...you are running! Wow!

The activity that seems impossible today, will soon be your warm-up

Thank you Bobbinyc!!!

I just happened to get them from Rack Room Shoes by chance they were on sale. They are Fila Maranello Memory Foam Cool Max. You can probably buy them anywhere. Saw them on Amazon & Shoe Carnival too! It's the insole thats memory foam is detachable so you can change it with any type of support and even add another layer under the memory foam. I get awful pains in my shins anytime I run but so far they have been a lifesaver.

Awwww @Bobbinyc Thank you so much! You make me blush!!

I never thought I could be someone who inspires people... Right now I just want to help others to get over that "hump" of being able to change their life and health for good.

How many times have I started a different diet or exercise and fell off the waggon after the first 20 lbs.... countless times!

But this time it feels different. Just because I can tell that - just as you said - how we feel, our health, our aches and pains, mood, energy, all that goes together!

Don't get me wrong - I know I will ALWAYS be on medication for Depression. But the changes I have made and the upcoming yoga teacher training and daily guided meditation makes it easier to LIVE with my illness. And that is, what I want to share with others. 🙂

And if I can inspire someone on the way... I think that is the best feeling and reward I can think of!

Hi Barbara - oh that's great to hear! Yes... it's a day by day progress for sure!

And you liked it? It was done well??

I started with PiYo (Pilates and Yoga) from the same company (beachbody) and let me tell ya.... I am practicing yoga for over a year now but after the first session I was sore! I can still feel my core muscles. Not in a bad way - I can just tell that I have been doing something and that it worked! Pretty cool!

Today it's the lower body workout, so I am very curious to see how they do that!

Preparing for the yoga teacher training I am trying out many different trainers, programs and coaches to see how people teach, how they explain movements and posture etc. It's really interesting and I have to admit I was sceptical to start a DVD / online streaming workout. It sounds sooooo 80s LOL

But they are actually good! Just like the teachers I have seen so far at my yoga studio. And they are actually taking more time to explain postures and correct alignment which is so important!

Anyway - I better get my workout of the day in, because in an hour I am off to learn about Depression, Anxiety, PTSD and how to deal with Self Stigma. Should be interesting!!

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Birgit

Good Morning!  I guess I will kick off the weekly check in.  Not going to make the goal weight, but put a huge chunk in what I was wanting to loose.

Hi all

Quick check in. Made it to 136.5 this AM which was a big surprise. I wasn't very active yesterday afternoon and evening and still I slipped past the plateau.

Goal weight is 135 and that is my UGW I think.

Off to class now.

Stay on course for our last week of this challenge. I'm rooting for all of you.

WONDERFUL!!! You are amazing Barbara!

You better keep checking in with us, even if it's not to lose weight but just update on how you are doing. I know personally your kind works and encouragement has helped me each week 🙂

I lost 3 pounds in less than a week!!! I didn't even think I'd make it to 205 before Labor Day was even here. I'm offically halfway to my goal weight!! I'm so excited. I've been doing better about not weighing myself but once a week or so, but since it's so close to the end I've been doing it every few days. Hope everyone else is on track 🙂

Best Answer

@awood08  Good for you!  I know you adjusted down too!  I am going to come in close to the goal weight, but will probably miss it by a # or 2, but am proud of the effort and the results all of us have had.

Best Answer

I'm also going to miss by a pound or two. But trying to appreciate how close I am to that goal. Progress may not always be as fast as we planned. (Dairy Queen is not helping!)

I'm noticing improvements in how long I can jog, how long I can plank, and trying to keep the whole picture in mind.

Baby steps.

Keep on keeping on.

Thank you! I think we all have worked so incredibly hard, we should all be proud. Even if we don't hit our goal spot on (I adjusted mine so it was realistic), everyone has done amazing. Just like @mcfloozy said, the changes in how long excercise can last and overall how your body feels is amazing. I couldn't even stand to run more than a minute without feeling like my head and legs were going to explode. I ran at the gym yesterday and completed a mile in 10 minutes as opposed to 16 minutes it use to take me.

It took us years to put this weight on, it's going to take time to get it off. We can do it!!

WooHoo,

I met my Labor Day goal this morning a few days early.  A lot has to be said for eating healthy and tracking my food on my Fitbit, all with very little exercise.  I had knee surgery 3 wks ago, but have managed to stay on a low carb eating plan and walking about 1500 steps a day.  Tomorrow I have foot surgery (trying to get it all in before returning to work) so I'm facing my next challenge.  I can't wait until I'm fully healed and back to walking 10K+ steps a day.  Looking forward to trying a couple of 10K hikes they have here in Northern Cal.  I have a Charge/HR and am totally addicted to it.  Thanks all for your posts and inspiration.

Still a ways to go to meet my final goal.

Hi everybody!

I am just quickly checking in. I had a little jump up the scale earlier this week. Was down to 224/225 but now I am back at 226, which is TOTALLY fine because it still means that I have lost 15.4 lbs in two months and that's right where it should be. Not too fast, not too slow.

It also means that I have lost another dress size which feels wonderful and the total loss is 58 lbs since January. Yay. If things move on like this I could actually make it down another 25 lbs until the end of the year, which would be fabulous and a great start into 2016.

Have we decided what our next goal is? Halloween? do we have a new thread yet? I've got to go look.....

Happy long weekend everybody and lots of hugs to all of us cause we are fabulous LOSERS!!!!!!!
