Welcome to the next Challenge!
This one will start on Labor Day and continue to Halloween, 2016. That gives us 8 weeks to work toward our next set of goals as we try to lose weight or maintain in a healthy way.
Everyone is welcome to join this terrific group. You can post once weekly or every day - whatever you like - to share your journey, give and get support, offer advice, get some tips. We have celebrated each other's successes, and empathized with the setbacks. I personally found, the more I respond to others, the easier it is for me to focus on my own journey in a positive way. We have seen great progress in previous challenges, because we are in it together and focusing on being healthier and living better lives.
Some of the terms used to report our weight:
USW - ultimate starting weight - the heaviest weight when you began to lose
SW - starting weight for this challenge
CW - current weight for the day you report in
GW - goal weight for this challenge, for Halloween
UGW - ultimate goal weight that you intend to reach eventually
Some people also include their height, their age, their BMI.
All you need to do to join, is start posting, usually with some of the weight information.
I'm very excited about continuing with this wonderful group of people and meeting some new folks too.
Thanks to dancefoxtrot for starting the last challenge.
See you here on Labor Day!

@Bogdel Thanks. I'm trying my best to keep myself motivated and it helps to share my thoughts, my successes and plans.
Week 3 Day 5: (wow time is flying)
It's been so cold and rainy and dark here today. The dogs haven't wanted to go out at all so I didn't even take them around the block. I DID go to my 5th day in a row of aquafitness. I also did a Leslie Sansone walking video (1 mile express). Including a bit of housecleaning, I met my 8k step goal. I've gone beyond my own expectations for the week, though the struggle will be the weekend, trying to get in enough activity. I'll do my best to be creative and do smaller things frequently to keep my metabolism revved all day.
Is anyone doing anything exciting this weekend?

Checking in - on track to meet my goal for Halloween - currently at 250 lbs and by Halloween I'm hoping to be at 240 lbs. Slow and steady wins the race 🙂
Here's how I did this week - still have today to count stats but I've almost achieved all of my goals.

@TatiG How do I find my weekly deficit? Does it automatically combine it for me or do I have to do it manually for day to day? I see it on the bottom of your chart.

I was wondering if we wanted to start an activity group. Once it is created, all we have to do is join. We don't have to post comments. Our steps are there, and we will be able to see where we stand with the rest of the group. Let me know what you think.

@debb21 but...but...but...I like blabbing.

My daily blab...
Week 3 Day 6:
After running to the bathroom three times in the night I thought, 'ooh, good day to weigh.' Down 4 lbs from my last drop Monday. Whoa. But I woke up all shakey and a little scattered so I think my blood sugar was low (I'm not a diabetic so I don't test or anything). I grabbed some cheese quick and a toast with peanut butter and some juice. That helped.
Mom and I went for a 40 min (4000 step walk) at the nature park this morning. I had a revelation. Really, and she helped me decypher it. We were tromping along in awe of the calm lake, the ducks and how nicely they'd paved the once-gravel trail. I told her about my daily goal this week of 7-8k steps and that I'd met it every day and even exceded it by a lot on some days. I mentioned that even though I'd done over 8k steps yesterday I felt like I hadn't done enough and I was being lazy by sitting to watch a ball game in the evening. I didn't know why I felt like it wasn't enough when I'd met my goal. And she said to me, "That's extra energy you never had before. Thin (or fit) people always have that little voice telling them to get moving and do something. They just don't notice it or understand that we don't have it at all. Can you imagine if that was activated all your life?" and I thought, "WHAT?????" There's a voice that tells you to get out of your recliner? It tells you to turn off the tv and go do laundry or mow the lawn or whatever, just move?? I thought the only voice I heard was the monster that lives inside me telling me that it`s too much effort, that I`ve lost too much and fights me tooth and nail to stay the same or gain it back, the monster that screams, "EAT." That monster is bashing me right now. It wants me to shove 4 hotdogs with all their fixings down into my gut at this moment (I don't have any in the house yay me). But I have to remember that 4 lbs that disappeared off my amazing scale and that's exactly WHY the monster is bashing at me. I have to meet this new voice with affection and recognize it and treat it so nicely that it will come back more often. If I have a monster, maybe I now have a pixie with a little voice that will grow louder in time.
Just before noon I heard that second voice again. So, I leashed up the dogs and took them for a LONG walk. 4300 steps worth! And while we were doing the perimetre of a city park a car pulled over with 4 women in it in green tshirts representing a local pet food store and they were doing a 'good deed of the day' thingy. They took pics of my dogs and gave me a bag of local no-grain treats for the dogs and listened to my story of how I rescued one from down in Georgia from a high-kill shelter. And I warned a senior lady about a sketchy looking dude behind a bush that she'd be walking right by so she crossed the street. (My good deed for the day). It was a good walk.
And I'm going to watch Canada play Russia in the World Cup of Hockey tonight *cackling in glee and rubbing hands together* and maybe I'll flip back and forth to the Toronto Blue Jay vs NY Yankees game. I'll do some marching if that second voice pops up again.
I hope everyone is having a great Saturday!! Mine's been pretty awesome, if I do say so myself.

Ok, I started an activity group called challenge me too. I didn't explain it very well in my first post. All you have to do is join, and our steps are recorded and we are ranked. We don't have to do anything else. There is a forum, but since everyone posts here, the group can be used just to see how we are "stepping" compared to everyone else!!! If no one wants to join, I will just delete the group.

Greetings all,
I am home from my holidays and had an awesome time, I even managed to stay below my goal weight even lost a bit more which makes me think my doctors goal of 55kg or 121.3 lbs is achievable for me as I am 55.9kg or 123.3 lbs now even though I am exceptionally happy with my weight as it is as I am fitter and slimmer than I was at 15, I must have been overweight then I'm thinking. I am late starting on this challenge but I so enjoy reading the posts, so much inspiration within and I HAVE missed them and you all
USW June 2013 84kg; 185.2 lbs
CSW Sep 24 55.9kg; 123.3 lbs
UGW 55kg; 121.3 lbs but I am just as happy to maintain my CSW, still trying to find my personal Carb level for maintenance and health.

Not a bad week, 2 x 5k treadmill runs, 1 x 1 hour PT session and trying to get steps up where time allows.
Having my eldest son's 18th birthday on Friday, meant I did not have the free evenings to allow me to do as much exercise as I would have liked, but thats the way it is.
Steps up from 51k to 71k so getting there.
My previous Fitbit stats are a massive motivation, as I know what is realistic and I know what I can achieve if I can resist the sweets and chocolate, food and alcohol is easy.
Next week I am going to adjust my diet, and try to eat more, but add some additional cardio and weights along with the running.
My only question to myself, constantly, is why I chose to forget all the pain that I went through January onwards to have to do it again, the surgery is not really valid.
I think that I need an analyst as much as a PT.
Have a good week everyone !

I just clicked on the link, thinking I may have a go at that, as I once managed 245k steps a week, but circumstances were different.
My eyes nearly popped out - Is there a $1m prize or something ?
I may join next week !
