Labor Day to Halloween Challenge 2016

ANSWERED

Welcome to the next Challenge!

This one will start on Labor Day and continue to Halloween, 2016.  That gives us 8 weeks to work toward our next set of goals as we try to lose weight or maintain in a healthy way.

Everyone is welcome to join this terrific group. You can post once weekly or every day - whatever you like - to share your journey, give and get support, offer advice, get some tips.  We have celebrated each other's successes, and empathized with the setbacks.  I personally found, the more I respond to others, the easier it is for me to focus on my own journey in a positive way.  We have seen great progress in previous challenges, because we are in it together and focusing on being healthier and living better lives.

Some of the terms used to report our weight:

USW - ultimate starting weight - the heaviest weight when you began to lose

SW - starting weight for this challenge

CW - current weight for the day you report in

GW - goal weight for this challenge, for Halloween

UGW - ultimate goal weight that you intend to reach eventually

Some people also include their height, their age, their BMI.

All  you need to do to join, is start posting, usually with some of the weight information.

I'm very excited about continuing with this wonderful group of people and meeting some new folks too.

Thanks to dancefoxtrot for starting the last challenge.

See you here on Labor Day!

The activity that seems impossible today, will soon be your warm-up

Well I went above and beyond my GW and my modified GW.  I no longer have been vigorously tracking my calories as I just am too busy at work (severely short staffed) I just maintain the same type of eating system as I have been using and it seems to be working for me.  I continue to work out, although this past week I did not work out as much as usual.  Halloween is today and I have resisted, tonight I will take my son out and about and I can say with confidence that the candy isn't even tempting anymore.  This has been a great challenge and everyone did amazing!!!!

I didn't reach my goal weight after all. I'm short 3 lb. I set my goal weight high not because I know for certain that I can achieve it but so I can push myself harder. I'm getting near the point where my bmi is not obese anymore and I can tell from being 300lb to 210s that losing weight is much harder now but still possible if consistent. Sometimes it seems like I plateau'd but one day I just wake up to losing 2-3lb the next day. But what the hell, I've lost 23 lbs!! Can't complain about that. Can't believe 2 months went by just like that. This has been a great challenge. Great journey so far overall. Looking to be under 200 by the end of this year. Great job everyone.

Thanks @DJC_63, it most certaily does, and to a weight I never expected to reach ever on any other diet, I am amazed how far LCHF has taken me and to regain so much of my old exuberant and healthier self as well. My auto immune issues have been in remission since about April, my liver issues are also improving but my COAD is still hampering me but I do what I can to improve it which is why I love going to gym, they have some very expensive and quite technical machines to aid me in that but I still love to get out and about on my treadly and walking my mini foxy as well as I enjoy being out in the fresh air and sunshine as well. Thank you for your support.

My last post before going to the new challenge. No surprise I didn't reach my goal. I've been stuck around the same weight this entire challenge.  The change in seasons has definitely made motivation a challenge.  But I think I've adjusted now so I hope that's behind me. I've decided to try more exercise as a way to get the scale to move again. Something has got to work! I'm certainly not going to give up.  This group has and continues to be a great support. I've learned a lot here. See you in the next one!

Well as sad as it is to say, I did not meet my goal. I know its my own fault and it was such a small goal. I just need more self discipline... 😞

Starting stats :

USW - 210 lbs

SW - 210 lbs

CW - 179.8 lbs

GW - 174.0 lbs

UGW - 125 lbs

  Today's weight. 177.6
BUT hey it is a loss, so I wont beat myself up too badly. AT least I am 2 pounds and 2 ounces lighter than when I started it. Well at least that is my bright side of looking at it. I am going to do another challenge, maybe 2... just to keep pushing myself and hopefully one day I will be able to say I did it,,,

What a wonderful group of inspiring people.!!!!

Hi and bye all,

SW 150

CW147.5 darn it.

Up from 146.5 last week.

Doing the trampoline bounce routine. I ate NO halloween candy at all. Had only 1 bite of my grandson's ice cream on Sat.. Just not burning enough of good food.  Oh I know I had organic figs for a couple days and they are a healthy treat. Yep, and a large meal with my son's homemade pesto linguine and chicken, my Indian spiced lentil and quinoa dish and a wonderful large salad. Time for dandelion tea and starting again.

Down is better than up tho' so see you in the next challenge.

Come on over,
