Labour Day to Halloween 2015 Challenge

Hi everybody! This is a group with awesome people and we all have the same goals! We may have different ways to get there, so please keep the thread friendly so we can all enjoy the journey!

 

We are starting on Labour Day - September 4 and will be ending this challenge on Halloween October 31. 

 

I know you will all give your best - just remember: keep your goals achievable and HAVE FUN!!!

@Foxykim07 - I floundered for a while and what helped me was picking one new habit that would be my goal for the week, and that I would then continue with.  One week it was drinking 2 more glasses of water each day and I focused on that all week.  Sometimes it was adding another vegetable to each dinner, or planning healthy snacks for the week and having them on hand.  Each new thing became permanent.  I also increased my walking and added one other activity each week (weights, or pilates, yoga, etc)  I found giving up my sugar addiction hardest, so I worked on it but focused on getting a lot of other things in place until I could do better with food.  As long as I think about my health I find things fall into place more easily.

We have to do what we can, and just build on that.

@auroram I love your costume idea.  Have you ever belly danced?  I actually used to take classes many years ago.  It is the best exercise I know of for core - took away all back pain, gave me a 6 pack.  I loved it.  I almost got a job doing belly dancing but was told I was too skinny!!  Like I said, that was many many years ago!!  Sounds like you will have a fun Halloween.

Didn't quite make my Labor Day goal, but...

 

Starting weight (March) 189

Current weight                171.5   

Halloween goal             164, be able to hike 4 miles, find my triceps, ....

Ultimate goal                  145?,

New fitbit user this weekend. I would like to join your challange. Starting weight 263.8. Goal Weight 245. I love the fit bit so far. Especially the sleep tracker. Also looking for friends if anyone would like to add me to help motivate and challange me so I can get in shape a lot to lose here.

@Mermaid3011 I hope you don't mind me posting this again for the newcomers 🙂

 

 

To join this challenge all you need to do is post your starting weight, goal weight for Halloween, and as more or as little about yourself as you'd like. We like to check in weekly with each other (or more if you need some extra support) and this is great to give each other support and motivation.

 

Remember this challenge is till Halloween which is just over 7 weeks away so set realistic goals 🙂

I am trying to loose the weight i gained with my first pregnancy. It has almost been a year and nothing was working as finding a work, life, baby balance has all been new to me! I decided to get a fitbit about 2 weeks ago to help help me motivated. I am determined to loose 10lbs by Halloween and my daughters first birthday.

You sound sooo much like me! I'm finally down to 205 (starting was 235 back in June). I put on all the weight after my 2nd baby and like you said, between work, life & baby it's tough. Only my baby is almost 3! lol so no more excuses for me. We can do this! My goal is also 10 pounds by Halloween 🙂
