Seems like several of us are in the same boat now.

I didn't walk/exercise much because I was...well...too stressed, too busy, too tired, too worried, too sad, it was too hot, too cold, too rainy, too dark,  too early, too late...um...you know!  And my food choices matched.  So...

my commitment here in writing is:  Going to tape my Motivation List to the monitor - that has helped before; going to go food shopping right now based on things I will actually make for the next few days; going to make a hearty soup today because that is always my best lazy go to food; and going to go someplace relatively calm for 5 minutes and think about what I really want and deserve, and what else I can do to make it easier.  Sometimes just the 5 minutes of calm focus (either someplace pretty or even the library) is all it takes - a very quick guided meditation - see myself the way I want to be.

You guys keep me grounded.  Thanks

The activity that seems impossible today, will soon be your warm-up

@dancefoxtrot  I hope you are alright.  If I recall, last time here you had hurt your hip.  I hope it is healing and  you are back to being very busy living a full life.

I know it's weird, but I really do worry when you guys disappear.

@JacquelineP thank you so much for your kind words not quite sure I deserve them but it definitely warmed my heart 😊 Makes me happy to know that I am able to help encourage someone else even in a small way. This is not my first attempt at this weight loss thing either. I have been fighting my weight literally my entire life. The first time I joined Weight Watchers I was only 12.. My mom brought me... I have joined and quit and rejoined many times since then. I never have accomplished as much as I have this time though.. And I never in my life have been this active so hopefully this time I can stick with it and make it all the way 😊 And more importantly stay there...

I rejoined WW 2 years ago after a long talk with one of my doctors.. Yesterday I saw that dr. for the first time since then. To say she was surprised would be an understatement. That wasn't the only surprise of the day though because before the visit was over she asked me if I would consider becoming a motivational speaker for their weight loss program.. I have never been so surprised in my life. Who would ever have believed that? Certainly not me.. Shows you how things can change... I'm actually thinking about it 😊 I so much enjoy the support and encouragement I receive in this forum why not pass that on by trying to do the same for others???

Anyway I just wanted to say thanks and hang in there because as long as we don't give up in time we are all going to get through to the finish line 💙

@Bobbinyc thank you also for being there for me and for so many others here. We can always count on you to be there for support and on those not so great days.. Understanding with no judgment 😊 don't be to hard on yourself about the 5k, one of these days when I get on here I am going to see that you have done your own. The first time I did a 5k my neice talked me into it. We walked (ok, she ran but I walked lol) we did the Jingle Bell run for the Arthritis Foundation in honour of my Mom... Didn't think I could do it but I didn't want to let her down 😊 fooled myself... One of these days you will find the right motivation for you. Btw my learning moment on pushing yourself to hard came when I did 12 miles on my treadmill during the extreme heat of the summer making sure I hydrated but not giving any thought to my blood sugar. Came to on the bathroom floor to see my very frightened hubby standing over me with a glass of oj. So yes push yourself to increase your fitness level but do it in stages and definitely listen to your body, you know yourself better than anyone else does 😊

@awood08 thank you, I have to admit I don't hate that picture 😊 at least the "in progress" half lol. There aren't alot of pictures of me because I always hated having my picture taken but maybe I won't always have to hide or volunteer to be the photographer when ever they start taking pictures in the future 😊 I appreciate your support and hope I can do the same for you... Anytime....

Have a great weekend everyone and keep on stepping!

Looks like I jumped the gun with my last update.  After five days back from my Disney World trip, I see that I must have been holding fluid or something, because after normal (deficit) intake and average exercise, I'm down a little more.  SOOOOO .......  I did NOT make my challenge goal, but I DID lose a little bit (1.5 lbs down), and as we all know, (say it with me now -- HA!) every little bit counts!

Thanks to everyone for all the sharing, support, and encouragement!

USW: 221

CSW: 203  (challenge starting weight)

FCW: 201.5 (current weight)

Halloween GW: 199

UGW: 150-160

Congratulations to all who made it or nearly made it to their goal halloween weight Smiley Happy.

Did not quite hit my goal .6kg(1lb 5oz) off the mark Smiley Sad.

I blame Dennis Locorriere (Dr. Hook) though as I stayed in a motel when I went to see him perform and over-indulged on food and drink quite badly Smiley LOL. This lead to a bit of a crash back to my old ways.

I tried to have a push bike ride to get back on track but that went to rubbish as my bike broke.

I am still happy that finding here got me motivated again so thank you all.

Hi all, hope you had fun Halloween's Smiley Happy

So I went back up 1lb to 145 after we had friends down last weekend, plus my husband & I won a free meal at a new restaurant in town (burgers & shakes) so although it didn't help the weight loss goals I'm not that fussed as we had a great weekend & a lovely night out for dinner. Still, I hit my overall goal so I'm so happy.

A massive congrats to for working so hard towards your goals! From reading through the posts it seems like people are pleased with their progress!

This has been a really encouraging & motivating group to be a part of so I would love to join the next challenge as well (thanks @awood08 for the link Smiley Happy)

SW 4/9: 153

PW: 14/10: 145

GW: 31/10: 145

@sara91  I agree--about the "encouraging & motivating group" part, and I also have been meaning to thank @awood08 for the link AND for all the help and encouragement in the last challenge!  Her participation in this one was a good part of my reason for continuing on in this challenge.  !Smiley Happy

You guys are all wonderful! I'm so happy that we have been staying strong this challenge and no matter what have pushed through till the end! Thank you to all of you for the encouragement as well, I may be a happy positive person on here but you guys are a major part of what keeps me going 🙂

Remember regardless of what our scales may read, the fact that we are working harder towards living a healthier, happier life we are already winners. Can't wait to see what we can accomplish in the next challenge.

well, i didnt do so well this challenge. I only ended up losing half the added weight from my trip so im 4 pounds off from the starting point. This has been a rough month, work issues, then our fence fell down...parts to put up the 90 feet of fence will be picked up tomorrow (so today and last night, of course it rained in cali for the first time in...forever..thanks, Murphy) A day late and a dollar short, on Sat. some kid walked through our fence and put a stone through our stationary side of the patio glass door...most likely after accepting the candy we gave him or her. SO, bad month in the office = not so great in the banking area + fencing materials = very expenisve + unexpected window replacement that will probably be costing us about 500 bucks ( waiting on a call for an estimate because of course noone is open on the weekend. Oh and we just found out my hubs has diabetes...umm, yeah..so I'm just greatful I got through October and I hope November is much much better. Having said all that, I have tried the southbeach diet which is basically, very close to the diabetes diet low carb, low sugar, careful on fats, lean protien. I lost weight on that diet quuickly and it is only the work and lack of carbs and fruit (sugars)  that kept me from staying on it. I have 2 SB cooknooks. But, now it's the hubs health and I do the cooking so....I will be on the diet with him to support him and make it easier for him, cause, you know, I love him 😉 He picks up his glucose meter and sees his dr. on Teusday. I am going to try and get more steps in this month and to be more consistent despite all this drama, wish me luck. Good job everyone on staying strong, doing well, or just plain not giving up! See you in the next challenge!

Thank you for your response @auroram! I'm very sorry to hear about the house and work problems.

I am sure you and your husband will find a diet that is Diabetes-friendly and with proper treatment and medication, you'll both find a comfort zone and aim towards a healthier lifestyle. Cooking at home and from scratch is super important with any special diets. Baby steps!

Take care, I'm sure November will be much better for you and your family.  Heart

I can't say I haven't had progress though. At my highest weight drop I dropped nearly 62 pounds, 61.8 total. I can't go back from this point in time! Just do it!

I hit my goal, went down from 205 to 190, next challenge we are doing is Halloween to Thanksgiving and i'm setting a small goal of 5 lbs to lose. I'm in a wedding and I can't be aggressive with my weight loss as I have been due to my dress needs to fit! lol

I think everyone in this challenge has worked hard, regardless if they hit their goal or not, the posts i've seen has shown some true struggles and determination. 🙂

Hi Bobbinyc

I'm OK and sorry to worry you.  I just got busy and have been dancing, doing yard work and PT. That sudden pulled hip muscle cleared up in 2 days fortunately. Will write later as rushing to class again.

Thanks,

Barbara G

Hope that you are well and on track. I gained a little back so need to get back on top of it.
