Welcome Snowflakefoot!  I am quite a bit older than you are (49) but can relate to the unhealthy eating habits.  I have also had a sedentary lifestyle, working at a desk and on a computer much of the time.  I commend you for starting this change in your 20s which is the point in my life where I began gaining weight and slowing down.  If I had been paying attention then I'd be better off now!

Hi @snowflakefoot @jennifersw Smiley Happy

Try listening to your wonderful body, not a food plan. When not hungry, feeling satisfied (not stuffed), try not force feeding your body with more (it can be perfectly satisfied with less calories, however having all nutritients it needs).

If feeling satisfied, it's possible your body sends a signal to have more, base portions on hunger, feel how your body feels like after having some more (feeling a bit more satisfied, not having the need to have more).

Your body knows better than a plan, and wants to revert being at a healthy weight range it's most happy at (without needing to count calories - let your body guide and how you feel, not eating until stuffed).

When eating in honor with your body signals to nourish (to satisfy hunger), tuning in what it wants, when it wants, how much it wants), not eating out of boredom or loneliness.. eating mostly nutritient rich foods (when your body wants, and having anything else in moderation), your body will guide you.

Everything in moderation, even with healthier foods (when not hungry, try not having more). Hunger can be complex, if not having eaten for a longer time, hunger can be surpressed, when starting eating or seeing food, your body can say 'hey I like to have that banana for example, and a bit of this and more of that), your appetite can return.

Be aware about, eat slowly in smaller bites, enjoy the taste, notice when getting satisfied or your body wants more of a certain food, or be satisfied with left overs on the plate.

Use the the food plan when using to see food habits, change where desired, honor your body when it tells being hungry, and when having enough.

If not hungry even after exercise, let your body guide when it wants to eat (needs nourishment), what it wants and how much.

If not hungry in the morning, not feeling needing anything yet, trust your body (allow to have a little bit if desired), it balances everything out itself going to where it wants to be (your natural weight range) (by sending signals when hungry / having enough / no appetite yet).. not eating because being told to (and not being hungry), when not hungry and eating with family (you can have something else or telling your not hungry yet and have some later when getting hungry, or have what your body is really wanting in the moment unless desiring to have what everyone's eating in tune how much your body is asking for..).

Listen to your amazing body, it knows the best Heart

Enjoy

I'm 25 and got my fitbit a month ago.

I'd been a member of the gym for about 3 years (as I have a desk job and didn't want to put on weight) but I never lost anything until I started watching what I ate at the start of this year.  It's amazing how much of a difference it's made!

My fitbit also opened my eyes to how inactive I can be on days when I don't put aside time to exercise. Smiley Embarassed
