Looking for friends

I work a desk job and am looking for others that do as well so we cam complete, share, and motivate each other to get up from the desk and improve upon our steps.

I am a high school teacher, so while I'm not tied to my desk, I really don't get a lot of steps (according to my Omron pedometer).  I just got my Flex today and I would welcome some Fitbit friends to help me get motivated and creative to get those steps in!

I'm actually waiting for a replacement Fitbit One right now, but I'm still trying to get my steps in! I work a desk job 5 days a week. A lot of the time, we end up sending each other emails or IMs so we can multitask. Unfortunately, that also means we're not walking. This summer was quite hot, and now it's gotten rainy. I normally wouldn't mind either, but since I'd be walking on my lunch break, that kind of puts the kibosh on walking in those weather conditions. I do have to go BACK to work, after all. There's a growing group of people who are trying to move more. Hopefully I can get a little motivation here, too! 🙂

By the way, I live in a rural area, too, so walking to and from work is definitely not an option. Plus we have no public transit to speak of, so the option of walking from a stop farther away from work also isn't available.

Above every grey cloud is a clear blue sky.

I work in IT so I sit at a desk all day.  Some days I look up and realize I have been at my desk for 3 hours without getting up.  I try to at least get up to go get water down the hall but it gets very busy.  I just got a new fit bit zip and my goal is to hit at least 10,000 steps 4 days a week.  I get up and do 1 mile of Leslie Sansone Walk away the pounds at least 4 days a week and then I come home and do more walking.  Some days I hit the gym as well.  I live in Florida so this time of year it is too hot to walk outside.
