I am so new to this. I don't want to sound pathetic, however, I have no friends. I have pretty much stayed under a rock, if you wish to say so. I am ready for a change and want to change my life and turn it around heath wise. I am on my way to have weight loss surgery. i started out about 6 months ago at 350, and my goal is 115. Any friends is appreciated however you don't have to. Thanks for listening.
Hello Heavenly Baker, Welcome. You have a GREAT sense of humor. I hope you have made a bit of progress already. You must be rather short to want to weigh only 115. I am short. I would like to weigh 115 too but lately I've been going in the wrong direction. I don't really know how to do it except to avoid sugar and pastries. I haven't given up wine yet. I'm trying to snack on new things like very cold sliced beets.
The advice that the doctor gave me. Low carb high protein. Limit calories to 1200-1500. Drink 64 oz of water or more a day. I get to see where I am at next week at my Dr appointment. A month ago I weighted 284 and I will find out Monday what I am now. So we will see. I hope you get to heading in the right direction. I'm 5ft 5in Dr said my ideal weight would be about 115 so sounded good to me. Not sure how to add as friends or anything. Hope you get there soon.
Best AnswerAt 5'5" I would think your goal weight would be 125. (5 pounds for each inch over 5 feet.) I don't understand why anyone wouldn't weigh every day. !!!!!! On the 600 pound life TV show they should tell all those people to stand on 2 scales and add the numbers together to see what they weigh every day,!!! Why don't all those people do that???
Best AnswerI'm very sorry you thought I was being mean and nasty. I didn't intend anything negative at all. I didn't even consider that heavy people might have mental problems. My daughter is overweight but she is brilliant and a happy well adjusted person. I enjoy her company always. It helps me to weigh often to motivate me to eat less sugar and bread for a while if my weight goes up. I'm so short I have to watch calories all the time. In my next life Im going to be taller.
Best AnswerHi! I'm looking for friends to workout with too. I don't have friends where I live because I work night shift and I'm a new mom, so I don't get out too much. I got up to 245lbs with my son, and goal weight is 150lbs.
Hi Ford, I'm also looking to completing my most steps taken goal, hopefully we could accomplish each others goal together. I would like to hear your feedback on this. Have a nice day..
Hi there! You are in the same boat as my grandson. Its tough. He gets out to his job and is around people there, but at home he's in front of his computer where he meets with a couple of friends online in the gaming world. I applaud your efforts to turn your life around! I'm here for you if you need me, although I probably don't check in on Fitbit Community more than once a day.
I'm a 70-year-old married female who lives in the Pacific Northwest. My son and grandson live with us and have for the past 20 years (since my grandson was a baby). I didn't become overweight until I became pregnant in 1977, lost that weight, got pregnant in 1979 and lost most of that weight, and then slowly gained over the years. I got my first fitbit around 15 years ago and have advanced to a couple of different models over the years, and got pretty good steps in, and kept my weight steady, but overweight. I lost some weight for my other son's wedding, but then during COVID gained 30 pounds back. I was my highest weight, 206 pounds, at that time. Since then I've lost the 30 pounds by watching what I eat and getting my steps in. I'd say the diet is the most important thing. I eat 1,200 calories a day of mostly vegetables, a little fruit, nearly no starch, and some protein. Having ice cream or a cookie is a rare treat.
I don't know if you wanted to hear all that or not, but that's an introduction.
That sounds too low to me too. I'm 5'3" and still fall into the obese category, and will become only "overweight" at 167 pounds. I would be happy to stay at 150.
