MFP Peeps totally confused

How many calories do you eat calories back do you eat all of the calories pulled from fit bit or do you only eat half. I am supposed to eat 2100 or so calories according to MFP daily goal and fit bit calories. Daily MFP calories 1390 no fit bit calories 710 calories seem a little hight for 11000 steps in a day. I just don't want to under eat and sacrifice muscle mass, but I have to lose 130lbs.Smiley Happy

You want to eat a portion of the calories back. You will have to do some experimenting with what the portion is though. If you start at 50% you can see if you are still dropping weight. If you are, and you are still feeling hungry, go up on the percentage. If you are not dropping weight then drop your percentage. Check the related posts - there are some in there with a great deal more information than this has.

I find it confusing between the numbers of MFP and fitbit. I don't pay attention to the MFP numbers much, except for logging food.

I log my food in at MFP, but I use the exercise and food goal numbers from fitbit. I set my food at -500 calories a day and try to stay within the fitbit goal or under it--it shows up under my dashboard like a mileage odometer--arrow straight up or swinging to the left (either in the green or gold)

I am not losing fast, but I am losing. More importantly, I have seen my health improve. I have 130 to lose, too.

Good luck with your progress.

That's a good idea.  You CAN set up Fitbit and MFP to be reasonably close to the same goal intake, but they're never going to exactly agree.  So just pick one (I like Fitbit) and stick to it no matter which you use to enter foods.

My daily goal on MFP is 1500 and my deficit is set to -750 on Fitbit. I never go under 1500, but I always try to make sure i'm staying at that 750 deficit on MFP based on activity.
