Mood = Bad! This afternoon I said to my husband. "Going upstairs to get clothes ready for our holiday". This came with a warning that it wasn't going to be pretty, there would be tears and to approach with caution.
Dress 1 - nice dress, fitted perfectly (and only a size 12), but boobs stuck out a mile and rubber ring effect left from "magic" knickers.
Dress 2 - nice dress, very difficult to do up (size 14 I think), boobs as above, slight look of pregnancy under tied belt (still wearing magic knickers)
Dress 3 - very nice "designer" dress - size 16!. Took husband and daughter to do up zip. At which point husband says "why don't you just buy a dress that fits you?.
So, having had my fitbit for over 8 months, I have not lost any weight and am still at square one. Don't feel sorry for me, but I could do with some motivation of where I go from here and no, I won't be buying any dresses that fit me!

How has your nutrition been? How many steps are you doing a day?
I've been using my fitbit for almost 2 years now. Just using it to monitor my activity has helped get me off the couch. Between all the walking that I've done and watching my diet, I started to lose weight. I actually attribute my weight loss to not drinking for 3 months (lost 25 pounds). But the past 6 months I've been up and down. Some of it stress related. It's definitely a constant battle. But I keep active with my sports and biking and of course walking. Because I know that what I'm doing is good for me even if I'm not seeing results on the scale. Having said that, because of my pre-diabetes, I do need to lose some more weight and it's been tough lately. But I keep at it.
Don't lose hope! Losing weight is a journey and lifestyle change, not something done overnight. Hang in there. Keep stepping!

i would suggest looking carefully at what you are eating and modifying it as needed. the majority of weight loss (at least for me) came from a change in what i was eating. i added in exercise after about 6 months.

Hiya samr,
You made me laugh cause that's how I feel when I look in the mirror!. I'm always buying big tops to hide my belly. It's not funny though, and that's what motivated me to try the fitbit. I 'm still pretty new at it, but I try to reach my step goal every day. Another important thing for me is using the log to document what I'm eating. I am by no means perfect in this regard, but I am trying to eat healthier and at least be accountable for what I am eating. I use the calorie in/out as a guide and sometimes if I am over, I am now motivated to do more exercise where before I would remain a lump on the couch or snack more. I have finally accepted the fact that change and weight loss are processes, and I'm hoping to start with small goals that accumulate over time. I guess what I'm saying is that for me, I'm using fitbit the look at the larger picture and make adjustments along the way until I get where I need to be. I hope you can find what aspects of fitbit work for you and I wish you much success!

Hi!
Keep your head up! Continue to monitor what you eat and make sure you get your steps in, I try to do at least 10k per day and try to keep my calories at bay (varies person to person). I log everything I eat, even the occasional sweet I grab every once in a while. I always make sure I am burning more than I take in.
Take one day at a time, moderation is the key, don't give up! Best of luck to you!

Day 2: Mood better. Have found dress that fits.
Thanks everyone for your replies. I am fairly active leaving home at 0700 for work (20 min there and back), after work dog walk, cooking dinner, chores, etc. Normally don't sit down until 2030 at the earliest.
Downfalls - being starving when getting home from work and eating whatever is quickest, crisps .... Also, at this time of year and the beautiful weather (UK home - our current lovely weather is not normal) and sitting out in the garden until late drinking.
So, what I need to do is lower alcohol intake, increase water intake and resume food logging with myfitness pal.
Good news - I haven't put on any weight - just stayed the same

First don't be upset about the dress size difference. My daughter just got into a size 7 however her other jeans are also 10's and 12's, it depends on the designer. I have found even countries have different sizes. my jeans say 10 right now however if I go to size charts for stores I am between a 10 and an 18. So find a brand you like and forget the size number. If it fits and makes you feel good, thats what counts.
Yes I understand you want to lose weight and be healthy and you can do that too. Be healthy for who you are, and what your body type is not for a number a on dress. Walk, eat healthy, drink lots of water and enjoy life.

Glad you are feeling better. As others have stated, different designers can have the same sizes and fit differently. Don't get discouraged even though it's easy. Stay the course! And keep at it.
If you are starving by the time you get home from work, take snacks with you to eat at work so you are not as starving when you get home where you are more likely to eat more and eat things not so good for you.
