Mother's Day Challenge. Lose 20 by Mother's Day! Who is with me?

ANSWERED

Being involved in a challenge helps keep me motivated and it seems like it works for others too.  It also helps to have a goal and a deadline to get there.  Let's all get healthier for ourselves and for our families.  Let's do this for our kids, or our grandkids, or for our own mothers as well as for ourselves.  Come join me and let's do this!

I would like to try and lose twenty pounds by Mother's Day as well. I just started and I am 3000 short of my 10000 goal. I am going to try two, 30 min walks, and will try to alter my eating habits . Eating is the toughest for me so I will try to cut back the calories. Protein shakes or veg/fruit smoothies in the morning.

Hi, Canada!  I would love to loe 20 lbs by Mother's Day, too.  I just looked, though, and realized that this thread was from 2014.  I'm going to start a new one, for 2015, so that we aren't all scrolling through 20 pages of comments to get to the current stuff.  I hope you will join me there!

Hi there..

Thanks for the reply. I am just trying to get accustomed to this web site so hopefully I can find your new 2015 post.

My goal is to try to hit the 10,000 steps a day. ( little tough with a desk job )

However, if I want to really hit my goal of losing 20 pounds by Mother's Day, I am really trying to be mindful of logging my food intake. It is abit of work, but I am getting used to it.

Thanks for the response.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF US!

Jump on it and dance, bike, walk, swim those lbs. away. looks like you will need 950 more calories burned compared to calories in each and everyday.

What do you do to burn calores?

Even limiting calories to 1200 that gives you 2150 to burn each day. I have done 10081 steps, 4.4 miles so far and that burned 1,521 Cals. so far. Your burn rate maybe faster than mine so I would have to do enough exercise to burn 640 more. That would be 4 hrs of exercise a day off the top of my head. If you run that would be less.

Remember Fitbit device adds steps as we drive that need to be subtracted.

Congrats on wedding plans. Good wishes to meet your goal.
