Mother's Day Challenge. Lose 20 by Mother's Day! Who is with me?

ANSWERED

Being involved in a challenge helps keep me motivated and it seems like it works for others too.  It also helps to have a goal and a deadline to get there.  Let's all get healthier for ourselves and for our families.  Let's do this for our kids, or our grandkids, or for our own mothers as well as for ourselves.  Come join me and let's do this!

I find the fitbit really motivating although much easier to walk in California in the winter however by spring upstate New York will be paradise. Sometimes to get steps in i will step in pkace while watching a tv show or Ted Talk.

Just checking in...   had a relatively good week --meet my step goal 4 of the last 6 days and "almost" the last two days -- fighting a cold so last night I just went to bed very early to try to kick it.  Met my calorie goal all but one day and I really blew it that day BUT happily I got on the scale this morning and I lost 2.5 pounds!

I am also trying to stay motivated with the cold weather -- walking on the treadmill is REALLY getting boring! but I'll keep trying on those goal pants when I lose my motivation 🙂

6.5 lost and 13.5 to go

Hi there,

I would like to join a 20 lbs challenge. I am not sure if I can achive it by mothers day, but it is important to set goals and measure progress.  There is a saying (not sure who am I qouting). "Shoot for the moon and if you do not reach it, you will be happy because you will land amongst stars.

And who does not need some support. I am new to distucssion board. I realized that I need to turn my routine around to get better results. I lost some weight, but then I gained a couple of pounds back. I realize that bootcamp twice a week does not bring desirable results. I need more consitent workouts spread out over the week. I will also need to start drinking water more frequently and reduce carb intake.

I could share in some group support.

Cheers to all

Hi everyone.  Its been a while since I checked in with the group.  Had a bit of health challenges to go through.  Hopwfully, its now behind me and I can now focus on the weight loss.  Its inspring to read through everyone's post.  I've got more than 20 lbs to lose but it is a nice goal to work towards.

Well. I just totally splurged and bought a Bellicon rebounder. I love to jog, but my hips just have been hurting too much. Does anyone else use one? They even endorse Fitbit on their website--so that's pretty cool. Here's to trying something new!

I have one too but currently my son plays on it..... hmmm.. a good alternative to this boring treadmill.  I will have to try it out again.

Logged over 16,000 steps today! What?! Who am I?

I bumped up the speed of my treadmill workout today and it made a huge difference with steps. I think I'm even happier that I actually felt good running at a fast speed. Weight loss is a great goal, but really it's about being healthy and feeling like I can handle a challenging cardiovascular workout means a lot.

On another note, my husband got a fit bit recently so here to family health!

I am impressed and insprired by all of you!!  And I am resonating with you about the winter.  Enough cold weather already!!  I am ready for spring and to get outside and walk in some sunshine!  I went to see my grand kids this last weekend and drove home with sleet and icy roads most of the way.  What is normally a 4 hr. drive took 6 hours and I snacked on and off the whole way home.  I was on track before that, but blew it in the weight loss arena for last week's results by gaining two pounds over the weekend.  I did pretty good on exercise and diet today and hope to lose that two pounds quickly.  Keep up the good work everyone!

Great week! I weighed in yesterday (although my official weigh in day is Friday, I was just feeling good), and found that I have dropped 4.5 pounds! I committed to no Cokes, not even diet, and I think it's had a big impact so far, it's been 1 week and 2 days since my last one! And moving forward, I am committing to no empty calories...alcohol...for Lent. Feeling great, and seeing my weight drop has been encouraging. In 5.5 pounds I think I will reward myself with a new pair of jeans 🙂 .

I'm planing 10000 steps and a yoga class on Friday, bootcamp and yoga class on Saturday and another boot camp on Sunday. I plan to limit my carbs and drink more water. The goal is to drop 2 more pounds in a weeks time. It works when I put my mind to. I send my encouragement to all! Good work! Good energy!

On 1-18-14 I weighed 169 lbs I am now at 158. 🙂  Sigh, my scales haven't moved this week  :(, but I'm feeling better.  I've been walking and doing zumba on the wii. I will measure on Monday and see if I've lost any inches.

Trying not to get discouraged!!!

Mickey- our stats are almost exactly the same- when we started at and what we now weigh. With me- something always kicks in about week 8 or 9. I haven't gained but I've been slow to lose- let's stick to it!!!!!
