My fitness pal not syncing to fitbit

Hi, I'm logging all food and drinks into my fitness pal and it has been automatically syncing to fitbit, however for the past 2 days, this does not seem to be working. Fitbit is not reflecting the entries I've added to my fitness pal. Is anybody else having these issues? Thanks!

Hi there, i was having issues the other day where fitbit was not syncing, some advice said to switch the fitbit on and off again (hold the button down for a few seconds to restart it). It's been fine since. As for MFP, i noticed there was quite a long delay yesterday, over an hour, in getting my foods to sync with fitbit dashboard. i checked the application was still paired (settings, applications) and it was, so no idea what the delay was. If you havent tried all that already, please give it a go, it might help.

I'm going to try that. I've been having MFP sync issues as well.

Have you tried unlinking from MFP and then link again?

Yep I've tried that and synced again from my fitness pal. Do I need to do anything from the fitbit end?

I'm having the same issue.  There is a delay with the fitbit dashboard syncing my fitness pal calories.  I refreshed it and it added some random number of calories (not even one meal, just a random amount), then I kept refreshing and it kept adding random numbers until it finally caught up.  I did check my settings to make sure both apps were linked.  I may try unlinking them and re-linking.

Hi,

I was also having issues and did a google search to find this.

I have copied and pasted what they have said but will also post the link below:

"Hello everyone,

Our Fitbit API load is much heavier than usual today, which may cause significant delays in the sync between the two programs.  This hopefully will be ironed out by tomorrow, if not later this evening.

In the mean time, we do not recommend unlinking and relinking the two programs, as it will not prompt the sync between the two programs, only increase the workload on the server and delay processing the backlog of requests.

Thanks guys, we will have things back to normal as soon as possible.

Best,

MyFitnessPal Staff

UPDATES

March 2, 2015, 8:03pm PST - Hey guys!  We know we had some other issues going on today, but the fix for those is unrelated to the fix for this issue.  We have figured out the cause and are working on processing the backlog of requests.  It will not be back up and running tonight, but we will be monitoring it closely to ensure they continue to be processed.  Apologies for the inconvenience.  Again,  we do not recommend unlinking and relinking the two programs at this time.  We will update again tomorrow morning!

March 3, 2015, 9:41am PST - Hello everyone.  We've successfully worked through the majority of the Fitbit backlog overnight, and syncing should have resumed as normal for most users.  The number is not quite back within normal range, so a small portion of our users may still be waiting for a sync or seeing a delay.
Apologies for this taking a bit longer than originally planned, with the additional complications listed in the following article, our servers didn't quite make it through the requests as fast as we had hoped.

We will continue to monitor that this continues to process throughout the day and will update with more info as needed.

March 4, 2015, 2:12pm PST - Hi everyone. We thought we saw signs of our Fitbit backlog catching up, but unfortunately we continue to see a very large backlog of sync requests made to Fitbit's API. We are meeting with Fitbit to make them aware of the scale of the issue, but do not have an updated timeframe for resolution at this point. We realize how much you depend on the health of this integration, and are working closely with Fitbit to get data moving again. When we have a more substantive update we'll post it here.  "

Thanks UnSlimJim for checking into this more.  It sounds like both Fitbit and MyFitnessPal are aware of the problem and doing all they can to remedy it.  There must be lots of us using both apps!  I guess people are getting serious about getting in shape and that's a good thing.  Anyway, my apps were syncing better today, so they must have caught up.  Again, thanks for your research and reply!
