I had a belly dance performance today, and I was expecting my bellydance costume today to be snug, because I am a few pounds heavier then the last show I had back in September. I sat out the beginning of this season due to a back injury and gained weight.
WELL.....IT WAS HUGE on me! I had the belt on the smallest setting and it was sliding off me! I was soooo excited. It's been only 2 weeks since I started with Fitbit and MyFitness Pal ! (oh, and my new capri pants were snug and uncomortable 2 weeks ago and is now very comfortable with plenty or room at the waist).
I wasn't expecting this because the scale wasn't moving much the past two weeks- everyone said water gain and I was frustrated that I did not have the big "water loss" the first two weeks like most people do. This was an important lesson on not watching the scale and to trust how the clothes feel.
I got my next show on July 11th- so I better get sewing and making adjustments so it will stay on!
Thanks to everyone who has given me advice and support!

@Snapdragon Way to go! I hope you managed to keep the costume on during your dance!
Now get to sewing, but remember, you may need to repeat the alterations a few more times.

Thanks! Season goes through September- so yes, I am sure I will have to take it in a few times. But next year I can order a brand new costume in a much smaller size- that will be so exciting!

I'm happy for you - but I'm real curious - where does the average guy go to see someone belly dance? There's a belly dance season?
<sigh> I really should move to a big city.
