Need Friends: 35-40 to lose

I'm not new to fitbit but I am new to the community.  I'd love to find some friends who need to lose 35-40 pounds.  I am trying to eat healthier, keep track of my calories in/out, and "earn" my food.  I work a desk job so getting in my exercise is a struggle but I am working hard to stay above 10,000 steps a day.

I would be happy to join you with a goal weight loss of 35 to 40 lbs. I am not new either but, I have recently decided to get serious about weight loss. I do a lot of exercise but, have recently noticed it's my food intake that really snuck the weight on for me! I guess I thought candy isn't a big deal if I do two hours of cardio along with a large iced mocha... I would be happy to have some one to complain to!! 🙂

I also have just recently recommitted to weight loss.  My hope is to lose 2 pounds a week until I hit the 35-40 mark.  What's your weekly goal.  I am trying really hard to stay away from processed foods and eat "clean".  I definetly notice a difference in my energy levels but one weekend of sugary foods and the weight loss disappears.

I am hoping for at least 2 lbs a week. It seems like we work harder than a pound or two a week!! Iced coffee and blow pops are my down fall. I ate so many and skimped on real food. I guess I thought I was breaking even. Right! Week now without coffee. I am grumpy but getting over it! I pushed my activity to double the last three months and saw no reward. I started a diary and I see why!! How long have you been working on this?

I'm new to the fitbit just started last week and I'm looking at losing 40 to 50 pounds. I also work at a desk job and I totally agree with you about trying to get exercise. I have just committed to taking both my 15 min breaks as a walking break with my co-worker. I work from home three days a week so I exercise for my lunch break three times a week and walk on my two days inhouse. I suffer from herniated disc so it is very important to get this weight off and also for my own self esteem. I would really like to be that hot mom or wife someday. Smiley Very Happy

I have lost 25 lbs since last summer but only go serious about my diet within the past two months.  I have been doing a lot of reading about processed foods and found that cutting them out has really helped me feel better (though I keep slipping so I haven't lost much more weight).  I have been trying to get up and walk up and down the hallway every couple hours at work just to get some extra steps in.  Last week I ate really well and lost 4 lbs though so I guess if I can stick with it I can lose the weight.

Wow 25 pounds is a great start! Good for you!! Before I started the fitbit
I had lost maybe 10 pounds but I wasn't doing anything really. I would
watch what I eat and then get disappointed at the scale number and then
binge eat. Having the fitbit has really opened up my eyes on the calories I
was eating and also activity. I have been looking at some things about
clean diets also and I would like to go more towards that for my whole
family. I know I have started added more fresh fruit and veggies in my
diet. I have noticed I'm looking more in the organic section of my local
grocery store to. I don't know about you but I feel so much better after
eating healthy fresh foods then a mystery meat chicken sandwich from
McDonalds. 🙂 It's a slow process and it is also a life style change. I
really want to change my naughty eating habits to be a good role model for
my daughter and to help my weight out too.

Hope you have a great weekend! I will be spending my weekend in my garden
beds if it doesn't rain here in Wisconsin. 🙂

Is clean eating difficult to implement? It seems like quite the process at least at first. I had gained a lot of weight after my last baby. Lost it when my mother was going through hospice and dealing with her death last June. Then after a car accident in October I seemed to gain it all back without even realizing it. I had clothes post baby so it was a short lived weight loss and ended back to where I started, just not fair! 🙂

Sherbear,

It was easier to transition to better foods than I thought it would be.  We don't eat out much so that wasn't so much the issue.  We just stopped buying the processed foods and let what we had run out so it was a slow transition.  I don't find it hard to skip in the grocery store but when it enters the house I'm in trouble.

Gardening is great exercise!  Hope you have the nice weather you're looking for.

Shyla,

It wasn't too difficult to do.  We just stopped buying the junk and let what we had run out.  The 25 I lost was mostly stress related too.  Now that the stress is gone I want to be healthier overall and get down to where I should be, and also have more energy to do things with my family.  My wake-up call was when I looked at a BMI calculator and found out that my pre-25 BMI was considered obese and no doctor had bothered to tell me that!  You should definitely look into clean eating.  I didn't realize how awful I had felt on my previous diet until I switched to clean foods and then had a slip.  Headaches, lethargy, and just feeling bad overall.  Got back on track and feel great!

I am fairly new to fitbit and want to lose around 50lbs. Week one I didn't do very well with getting in my 10,000 steps but week two it became a little easier. I am not very motivated to get in at least 10,000 steps. We can do this this together!

I am looking to lose 50 pounds.  I feel very unmotivated right now and am I looking for a crowd to get me out of this rut.  I work full-time at my desk and when I come home, I work on my online master's program.  I struggle managing my time with home, school and work.  I average consistently 5-6K steps a day.

I look forward to anyone who could help me get back to the road to weight-loss.

Afternoon, I'm happy to help motivate, I have been using my fitbit for a couple of weeks now and it always gives be a fright when it buzzes me on the 10k steps but thats the exciting part.

As with a few of people here I'm stuck at a desk job, I manage to get my 10k steps most days, they days I gym are the easest.

I have a few friends who are eating clean and are very happy. I am trying not to stack so many life changes at once. I tend to drop everything when it becomes too much. I quit smoking a year and a half ago. Then I quit coffee two weeks ago. Small but sure steps 🙂
