Need someone to hold me accountable

Hi my name is Emily. I'm currently a college student and I'm trying to lose weight. I am 20 years old and looking to lose about 20 lbs. I like to workout, but I can never stick with it. I feel like if I had someone that held me accountable for my eating patterns and working out that I would be more motivated to stick to it. I would kinda prefer someone that is in pretty great shape themselves because I may also need to ask some questions or for tips along the way. Anyone willing to help me?

Hey! I just sent you friend request. Im from Sweden, my name is Victoria.

Its difficult to control eating habits especially if nobody see you...but still possible. Gym going or workout routines needs alot of determination and time (you have to give most of your free time to exercising, r u ready for that), good you have fitbit watch now, bcz you can walk alot and be part of challenges thru weeks and weekends. Loosing weight and eating right or healthy is a lifestyle tho, if you want keep your wait under control. Im exersicing 4 times a week at the gym, 2 times in a week im running... but im not a big fan of running, but any kind of cardio - calories killer. I never been overweight (the biggest weight i had 60 kg, but my normal weight is 57,5-58kg usually. Height - 164cm), but my husband was overweight, but he changed it during 2 last years and he keep it that way. Its a hard work, but im sure you know it. Im using fitbit blaze, I think its fun. Alot of crazy walkers and runners here lol

Also the planning of the day ahead is very important, especially in the beginning.. yeah, its boring, but if you know what you are planning to eat next day - you control your weight.. then with a time it will be a habit. and of coz workouts ( cardio and weights, for ex. dumbells, id say its ok to start without weights for a week .. simply bcz you need to learn exercise and then u can add weight, 2 kg dumbell is enough for beginner), walking - min 10,000 steps a day.

Good luck

Hi Emily

Everyone is unique, what someone else prefers to eat is different to you and your precious body. It's not a diet, it's not about restricting foods (not possible to deny your favourite foods).. that leads to binge eating.. dieting is temporary, as soon as eating the same as before, the weight can come on again..

See which foods you love to eat, which keeps you satisfied the most. Always eat what you love when hungry if possible, or if not possible, see which foods you like as alternative from the foods available when not able to eat your favourite foods.. no need to starve yourself.

When eating, trying tuning into your precious body, do you need to force feed yourself now? Still feeling satisfied and not hungry yet? Could eat a bit more but not as much.. basing portions on how you feel.. not always as easy but gets better at every meal. Cat Embarassed

Craving something to eat but just ate a epic meal until having truly enough? Could be out of habit instead.. if feeling stuffed that's a sign eaten to much, try aiming eating until comfortably satisfied. It's not possible eating perfect all the time, though if eaten to less, it's possible to eat more later if being hungry.

Foods aren't scarce, so we don't need to force feed ourself, wondering when the opportunity is to eat, as there's always food available (our hunter / gatherer ancestors depended on the hunt on how much food was available, and while some days were feasting, there were also times of famine), which isn't the case now where foods can be bought from the stores, where we can go to a restaurant at any time and have foods anytime we want to.

80% is about changing food habits (when eating, is it out of hunger?), it's okay to eat when not hungry, being mindful about (this cake is once in a while, am not hungry so have a piece and try eating when hungry again)..

20% is exercise, natural walking is exercise to if not feeling up to go to the gym.. it's not something that should be like feeling 'i need to do this but i don't want to', it should be fun (cause you love to) (eating the foods you love when hungry, stop when having enough), exercise for fun (must be something you love to do).

No restriction in foods (everything with moderation)..

It's changing body composition (decreasing body fat), it's possible gaining muscle mass over time with exercising.. getting leaner while at about weighing the same is possible (increase in muscle mass compensating decrease in body fat) but being more leaner, toned..

Set smaller goals, like a few pounds at a time, seeing how your precious body changes over time, getting more toned and lean.. further decreasing weight (body fat) and increasing muscle mass if desired by setting a new goal.

It's possible being at a higher healthy weight range / body fat range but being toned, lean, looking awesome, not necessary needing to decrease weight further at a certain point.. which can be different than the goal having in mind.. it's awesome to have goals, the weight range your body likes to be can be a bit different depending on food habits / exercise but being at a healthy weight / body fat range and looking shiny. Wishing a splendiferous weekend
