So I have been really good about changing my eating habits and exercising. I've lost 10 of my 20 lb goal. However this weekend may undo it all. It is my annual cottage weekend with a group of friend. Traditionally we eat a ton, drink and engage in some winter sports (not in that order). Now the winter sports are great, but how do I resis the temptation to overeat when everyone around me will be, and there will be copious fatty, delicious foods around. Any tips?

That is always tough. Trying to find alternatives to foods being eaten. Eating a salad when others are devouring a pizza is no fun. But it makes people notice that you are trying to eat better. Let a friend or two in on your attempts to do better and solicit their support . Having someone looking out for you is always helpful. Remember your goals and picture your results, makes it easier to pass on the donuts.

Drink plenty of water and you can eat the same things, just smaller portions (every 2-3 hours). Hope that helps 🙂

yeah look for the healthier dishes, and if you eat a pizza eat a slice and a nice size salad to fill you up. I notice that if I log all my meals and see i am close to my calories for the day this helps me to not overeat or drink. Have drinks that dont have all the sugars and calories like cocktails do... Drink two light beers low in carbs and calories and drink slow... or have a diet vodka tonic, those are only 120 calories with two shots, some diet tonic water and a squeeze of lime... If you eat light you wont need to drink too much anyway so you dont get too tipsy lol... main thing! know your calorie intake goal and stick to it! that number is what helps me to stop lol! if you are going to eat more than make it up with some exercise so you are still within your range!

Thanks for the advice everyone. I am currently tracking my intake, so I will continue to this weekend. I think I'm going to try to drink lots of water to help manage my appetite. I found out last night at an early valentine's dinner that rich food now makes me queasy. So that might help
