New, But Not New To Losing Weight

Smiley Happy Hello every one. I'm 196 lbs. and looking to lose 16 lbs. for a goal weight of 180 lbs. I'm 60 and 5'8" and this weight I'm at now is way too much. I know when and if I get to 180, I'll be looking to get to 170, so actually I need to get 26 lbs off my frame. I just received my Fitbit One and so far I'm pleased with it with all it's calculations. Nice little tool. Now to train myself in being mindful of what I eat. I already get in 2-5 miles a day walking with my dog and need to amp up my activity. So stay tuned and I will post on what works and what dosen't for me in getting to my goal weight. Stay tuned!!

@StevenA54  The food logging area will help you become more aware of every bite you take. Sometimes it's handier to grab something than to plan it out. Making yourself log that food will make you see just what you're eating.

You can do this. Looking forward to your updates.

Correct!!

LOL...if my calculations are honest, I have only 182 calories left of 1666 for the day. Need to walk off some more in a bit. Sometimes I think I'm not eating and drinking (beer) as much as I am. My "normal" is not normal...LOL! Beautiful day, and I was in the backyard drinking a few cold ones, eating crackers, pepperoni and cheese. Adjustments are in order.

@StevenA54  Ummm, you were celebrating the 4th of July, right? Denying yourself would only make you indulge all the more later on. At least you're on track and your Fitbit is keeping a close watch.... Robot LOL
