Welcome to the New Year Everyone! This will start January 1, 2016 officially 🙂
If you have seen the posts before this is a challenge that everyone is invited to join to set your own personal weight loss goal for the next 6 weeks. This is all about having a great support system and most importantly feeling great and happy and healthy about yourself. Don't worry if you have bad weeks because we all go through it.
To join the challenge all you need to do is post your weight stats & check in as often as you'd like with an update or just to share a story from your week. This group has some huge inspiration in it and people that give wonderful advice.
Looking forward to catching up with all our friends from the other challenges and anyone who is new!
Thanks @saraj91 for starting up the last challenge!

OK Team,
Midweek update, and I apologize if this isn't protocol, but I'm fired up!
USW: 01/03/16 313 lbs
CSW: 01/03/16 313 lbs
CW: 01/05/16 306.4 lbs!!!
CGW: 02/14/16 293 lbs
UGW: 199.9 lbs
This is my third day, and I'm down 6.6 lbs! Reducing my bloat.....water weight.....whatever! I'm seeing results.
I'm shooting for 20K steps a day and fell 3K short today, but made 20K on the 3 days prior.
Using MFP to track the calorie intake, and I've stayed under the suggested 1880 calorie limit for someone of my delicate 5'10" frame.
Feeling more chipper in the morning after getting 8K in first thing, but I am getting a bit of a headache in the afternoon........I think it's from lack of a lot of junk food from my previous diet, which I used to consume mass quantities of in the afternoon.
One of the most helpful things I'm doing is making sure to get plenty of water. My previous diet had a bazillion grams of sodium, so I'm sure that me hitting the water heavy for the last 3 days is the reason for my 6 lbs loss.
OK, long, long way to go for UGW, but seeing this loss in the first 3 days is really a big mind edge for me. Now that I have 3 great days under my belt and on the road the healthy, I don't want to cheat and give it up!
Let me know if I violated team rules by posting weight update midweek. Thanks awood08 for starting this challenge.
Go Team GO!

This group seems awesome! couple of days late in joining but this is just the sort of thing I need to keep myself on track this time!
I put on a scary amount of weight in years while I moved overseas with my boyfriend and I want to get it off again! Not just for looks but to FEEL healthy again, would love to be able to run for 15 minutes like I used to without panting for another 20!!
Last year I lost almost 20lbs in the first 5 months then after a holiday to New York the diet and exercise just never got back into my schedule and I put all the weight back on then some more!!
But no more excuses! I move back to my home country (Australia) in 6 months and I want to feel comfortable and healthy in my body again. Really pushing myself at the moment and it feels great!!!
Feel free to add me as a friend 🙂 I also have an Instagram fitness account @picklefitness so feel free to follow me there too if you have one!!

Today is my weigh-in day. I am at 143.4 pounds, so already a reduction of 0.6 pounds, but this is a yo-yo week for me since I'm a girl and it's girl time. lol. I'm waiting for next week to figure out my real weight. I did good this week and finally made it to (and OVER) 10,000 steps. I was super active on Monday. My goal is to be like that more often. I started taking cycling classes yesterday and burned over 500 calories doing that. I'm looking forward to a good month 🙂

I am in. Can a group be created for this? Here is how to create an activity group:
Once created the link could be shared and we could all join to keep things together. I was going to create it , but I wasn't sure if one was created yet that I missed.
About Me:
I have always struggled with my weight. I have had some health problems over the last couple of years. I lost about 50 pounds about 4 years ago. I was diagnosed with COPD a few years ago at age 37. I quit smoking, but was still unable to exercise because I would have choking fits. I gained over 50 pounds back. At my heaviest, I was 5'9" and over 270 pounds. Fast forward a few years and I was finally diagnosed with silent reflux. I had the Nissen Fonduplication surgery to repair the valve at the top of my stomach. It is similiar to having a gastric bypass as far as eating restrictions. It has helped me lose a good bit of weight. I have also started exercising again. I step in my office for 60 minutes at lunch, step at home for about 30 to 40 minutes after work and then ride the exercise bike for 30 minutes. All in I wrk out about 2 hours a day right now. I only eat about a cup of food at a time and try to make sure everything I eat has some nutritional value.

So a very small loss, but I'll take it. My starting weight was pre- New Years Eve open bar buffet dinner in which I over-indulged and have been trying to make up for. Getting back on the band wagon, I made my 10,000 steps goal the last 3 days as I'm getting back into the work routine. I'm going to focus on making my step goal, drinking more water, and a healthy diet with portion control.
Good Luck all and have a great week!
Helen

If anyone would like to create a group, please feel free to and we can all join and keep in touch that way as well!

Just checking in. I've been making some healthier choices, more exersize and better food. I feel I can still do better though since one day I rationalized to myself I could have an ice cream treat because I had gotten up super early taht day to do a volunteer thing at school. Really silly. At least I've made a bit of progress.

Went back into my last post to correct the dates (still had the dates from the last challenge), but the weight is the same. 😕
Thanks @HelenKr. Although I have thought that idea many times, I don't think I'm the one who said it in these last few challenges! But, I'm right with you on having a minimal loss, considering that I went below 200 in the middle of the last challenge before I popped back up again. Nevertheless, I am plenty happy enough to be moving in the right direction again.

@OCDOC Thanks for creating the group. Could you share a link to it please? I wasn't able to find it on the groups section.
All - I would still be very keen to keep this challenge thread going though as well if we are all on board still? Would miss you all and the motivation if this thread of positive people didn't exist.

I'm hating my scale right about now. I have to weigh myself every morning. Cardiologist orders. Ugh!! I never know my true weight. Or at least know how to find my true weight. One day I'm down 3 lbs and then the next I'm up 1 or 2 and then the next I'm either down or up again. I can't believe I'm retaining that much water this time of year. I'm not walking as much I could I guess. I can't do more than 15 min at a time so I'm thinking of doing the treadmill two or three times in one day. I guess it will add up.
I need to cut back on my morning breakfast. Seems I'm using half or more of my calories. So here's to another week and hopefully I'll have better news to report next time.
