Hey! I'm Tracy!
This is my first week using the FitBit One. I'm loving it so far, but I feel like it could be a lot more fun if I was able to communicate with other users, and we could reach out to each other for advice and/or motivation! I would also love to exchange meal ideas. Smiley Happy
I have around 40 pounds to lose and I'm super pumped! I would love the support and to also show support to others. Heart

How do you get 10,000 steps?  I work all day in an office, and don't seem to rack up more than 3,000!

Hi,
I get my steps walking in place while watching tv. I also do some walk at
home videos on YouTube by Leslie Sansone. When it's nice out I walk in my
backyard and I started with walking to one song and then increase how many
songs until I start hurting (back will ache). I also work all day at a
desk so any reason to get up I do. Make small changes and then increase
them.

I'm always here if you need motivation or just someone to talk to.

I work in an office also.  I have a gym close by and during my lunch hour I take a 30 minute walk then right after work I go for another walk.  On my breaks I try to take a little step to get out of my chair.

I am Tracy also.  I have the Flex.  I love it.  AND I also have 40 lbs to lose.   I have been doing this since January and although I am losing inches the scale is really not moving.  I am very active and achieve at least 10,000 steps per day.    Most days are over 15,000.   I find that wearing it on my ankle tracks the steps more accurately especially when I run on the treadmill.

 

I too am looking for encouragement and ideas to help me reach my goal.

 

I am in the Boston area.

You can walk at lunch and on breaks then after dinner take a nice walk. Do belong to a gym as you can get the rest of your steps in on the way home.

Yes I'm using the Charge HR and enjoy it. 

Logging food and taking the steps each day will get you there.

Welcome. There is a nice discussion-search under older women. Everyone is supportive. 

Best to you on your journey toward health.

Log everything you eat- it is eye opening. Set reasonable, achieveable goals, 1-2 lbs a week is plenty and to do this you have to eat 500-1000 cals less than you burn. Hope that you like to walk, run, dance or bike.

Healthier is doable.

Hi Tracy, I have a new fitbit today and would love to have others join me on my journey as I have 25-30lbs to lose. Also looking for motivation.

I have no idea how to add as yet though as still figuring things out.

Just wanted to let you know I have lost about 50 pounds since December with the Fitbit. Just track your calories daily and shrink your portions. Good Luck!!

That is geat that you have done so so well!.  I am struggling to lose since I had the fit bit in January.  I do track my calories and make sure I get all my steps in.  I am not sure why I am not having success.  It is usually 1lb per week.   I would love to know what your diet plan is if you want to share.  I tend to eat the same things over and over as I am a fussy eater.

Hi Tracy, I am new as well! Actually, I have been using Fitbit for about 2 months now but I have not been exercising and dieting yet. To be honest, I have no idea how everything works yet. It's my first time using community/forum for this type of thing. Please add me and support me with my goal to lose 22 pounds. Thx
