New and looking to make friends for modivation

I have tried several things in the past to lose weight, and I have continued to the fail. I am looking to make some friends to possibly hold me accoutnable and make me sign on to log activites and food, etc. Just got my FitBit so I am fairly new. 

 

What are some tips that you might have for a newbie?

 

What are your favorites activities for exercise?

Hey Kelli - I am also Kelli 🙂   I'm new to fitbit myself (just received mine Thursday afternoon) and am loving it so far! I have synced mine with my MyFitnessPal account and use that app to log my food as well as activities.  I find that food tracking plays a large role for me - I otherwise really just don't realize how much I put into my body.  I'm a treadmill girl - I love it 🙂  Feel free to add me if you'd like!

Are you finding the fitbit has your foods as options in their database? My biggest problem with other good logs is they never had what I actually ate 😕 lol I know that eating is my biggest problem so I believe seeing what goes in would help emensely 🙂

I don't use the fit bit food library - I use MyFitnessPal which links to fit it and has an awesome library. I'm always able to find what I'm looking for or something comparable 🙂

I like my fitness pal -- you can take a pic of the upc code and it will know what the food is so it will save you from always putting in your food. You can connect it to the fitbit

Agree -- my fitness pal is awesome they seem to have everything you need.

I'm Becka. I also just received my fitbit. Over the last three years I have lost 116 lbs. I did this by exercise and eating right. At the beginning of the year I had a setback. I tore my Achilles' tendon and had to have surgery. Just within the last few weeks I have started physical therapy. The fitbit was recommended to me. I'm trying to get back on track.

How do you sync the fitbit with the myfitnesspal? I tried looking and couldn't figure it out.

WOW Becka - good for you in that loss!  Since it was over a period of time, you got to make good habits stick!  Sorry about your injury though!  Darn it!  I'm glad you are mending!  Keep up the great work!  And take it easy until you heal completely!
