Hi, I'm new to FitBit! Just joined today and am excited to have the FitBit so that I can see my progress in numbers. I'm a data girl....the more the better for me.
I was wondering if there is anyone that would like a "buddy" on their weight loss journey. I have the support of my loving family and would also like to find some cyber FitBit friends to share with (and help keep me accountable!) I have over 100 lbs to lose and will be taking it one day at a time.

I am new to fit bit. I just recieved my fitbit zip for Christmas. I am however 100 pounds over weight and I am looking for someone who is in the same boat as I am. I move so much as being a military spouse causes this. I dont have any facebook friends that utilize fitbit. I do however utilize myfitnesspal.com as well as my fitbit.com page daily. I am looking for someone to help hold myself accountable to workout every day whether it be an email or a text or yes even a phone call to make sure I am keeping myself on track. I come from a family history of adult onset diabetes and I am bound and determined to not follow in my families footsteps as most are overweight. Please feel free to email me any time....NO SPAM PLEASE:
Have a wonderful day and keep up the great work. Hugs from South Carolina, USA

hello,
I'm new to fitbit. I haven't received my flex yet but I have the aria scale and have been tracking for two weeks.
I'm looking for support as I move towards my wdding next year.
My goal is to lose a total of 90 lbs. In two weeks I have lost 8.3 lbs. I'm looking for people who are looking for someone to share ideas as well as struggles with.
and if you could tell me how to add friends, that would be amazing too.

Hi there, New to fit bit since March 24th.
Congrats SuperWholock on the weight loss, You are an inspiration to me. I have about 225 pounds to lose. I am attempting to go low carb and have been reading about the Paleo diet but concerned that It is too strict buttttttttttt I have to do something because of my health. I am to the point I am tired of barely living and that is how I feel, that I am Barely living. Being this big interferes with all aspects of my daily life. I am 41 years old and want to know what it is like to actually feel "good" and to "live".

Hi,
I am eating paleo, I have studied, listened to Webinars, you name it. I actually don't feel so deprived eating this way. Yes, it's hard giving up wheat especially. Dairy I didn't really have a hard time with, and I still eat cheese occasionally, rarely. Giving up beans was another somewhat hard thing because I love kidney beans in my salads. BUT if you get these two books....Against All Grains, and The Paleo Approach, you will quickly see why eating this way is healthy. There is also blogs called againstallgrains and thepaleomom that will help you. The paleo mom is a lady who has lost lots of weight eating this way and she is also has a PHD in medical biology so she gives you the science behind the diet. I have been eating this way for about a year....80% of the time, and I am much healthier. My A1C blood sugars are way down and my doctor is very pleased. I am currently stalled in my weight loss, but I think its because I don't eat enough calories. If I eat even one thing thats got wheat or sugar, I gain weight. I am still trying to find that balance and I think it's going to be the exercise that helps tip the scales My advice is to read all you can about Paleo, then make up your mind to do a whole30 to begin. You can find out what whole30 is by going to their website but it will set you up to eating Paleo. Good luck, I will try to answer any questions. Oh, and guess what bacon is paleo! so you can eat bacon, that right there is incentive enough.

My grandkids are also my motivation. I'm turning 60 this summer and Yes it looks like we are on the same path. My fitbit says I burn over 2,000 cal day, but I m having a hard time getting enough calories in unless I eat junk. Going Paleo, which is mostly meat and veggies, it takes a whole lot of veggies to make those calories. However, even though I don't see the scale move, I am feeling 100% better, and I'm a diabetic type 2 and my A1C is realy gone down, so something must be moving in the right direction. Keep on trudging.

Hi I would like to be friends and offer support. I started with 205 lbs to lose. I have lost 48 lbs since Christmas. My sister gave me my fitbit 2 years ago in May but I just started using it after Christmas this year. It really motivates me to move and I started tracking my food and water as well. I am very excited about the changes so far and my mood and energy levels are so much improved. I rarely get over 5000 steps per day. My highest was 8954 this past Monday. I have bad knees so I can't always go as far as I would like but my numbers keep going up and my weight keeps going down. I'll get to 10,000 eventually. I have been doing tons of yardwork and that seems to help. I haven't measured yet but I can fit into clothes I couldn't wear for 4 years now. I cleaned out my closet and got rid of nine large garbage bags of clothes. Love to make some new friends to share the journey with!

I just started using my FitBit Flex, so I'm just getting used to it. I'm 49 years old and in January I weighed in at 277lbs. So Ive been on a physician supervised weightloss program (not surgery) and I've lost 65 lbs with 35lbs to go. How is your journey going and has your fitbit been helpful?

I have found great success using a system called New Direction. The program must be administered through your MD. But it works and I have lost weight quuickly and I'm healthier than I ave been in 20 years.

Congrats on making the first step Mrs.DMACS! I joined Weight Watchers in September, also needing to lose over 100 lbs. I am glad to say that it's working for me 🙂 I've lost 68lbs so far! WW is such an amazing program!! Just stick to it...journal and try not to get discouraged. I just got my fitbit today and I can already see it becoming addictive.. lol I would love to be one of your fitbit friends to help you keep on track 🙂
Like you said...one day at a time...slow and steady wins the race!! You can do this!!
