New to Fitbit... 10 lbs down, 265 more to go...

New to fitbit, only been using the app for a couple of weeks. I've been dieting and excercising for a little over a month (Since boxing day 2014) and so far I've dropped 10 lbs. I've found the calorie and nutrition logging an extremely useful tool to have in watching what I eat... Currently I weigh 415 lbs (started at 425) and My eventual goal weight is 150 lbs. Nobody I know in person owns a fitbit, so I would like to make some friends to try out that whole competing feature.... every motivation tool helps a little bit, in my books. I also started a blog on Tumblr to serve as further motivation(accountability to others helps me in a BIG way) so if any of you are on there, feel free to find me...

@Maithuna  Nice blog and it looks like you've thought all of this out quite logically.

How did your blood tests turn out at the doctors? I hope he sees how hard you're working to lose the weight. You could almost have him read to blog to see just what you're eating and how much you exercise.

You can do this. Your motivation is there and you're keeping track of every step. When did you get your Fitbit and which one did you get?

Keep us updated on your journey. It looks like you're off to a great start in 2015.

Hi Maithuna.  You are doing awesome having already lost 10 pounds!  I have had a bit of success logging calories as well.  To actually log every little thing I eat  really makes me think and choose better nutritional options.

If you would like another person in your cheering section, I have sent you a friend request.

I am rooting for you on your journey.   🙂   You got this!

@Odyssey13 hormones are lining up, and my cholesterol has gone down a bit since the last time I got them. Blood pressures also down to 130/90, which on prior rounds it had been closer to 140. So still plenty of ways to go, but I will get there! I just ordered a Charge HR through amazon, should be here either today or Monday... I spent time scoping out the app and the community before I decided on a purchase lol. I'm also looking at slowly movin in the direction of a (mostly) paleo diet. It interests me in a big way, but I could never do it 100% all the time (I like cheese too much... The app is helping me minimize that intake, but it's never going away completely. )

@MaithunaThat's wonderful. It's great to see your hard work proven by the weight loss and blood work.

You'll love the ChargeHR. Just be sure to clean it after the first charge before putting it on your wrist. It's wise to research anything before purchasing it, especially when it will be part of you all the time!

I am also new to Fit Bit and I am needing to lose a considerable amount of weight.  I agree the logging really helps me.  I would love to be accountability buddies with you anytime.  I have a very similar "journey" of my own.  Add me as a friend if you would like.  Take care and best of luck to you!
