Hi Everyone,
I've been stalking the discussion boards for a bit now, and starting to feel a bit more confident with my fitbit. I'm a busy mom, a working mom, a lot of things that end with mom. I'm working on finding me - a healthy happier version of me really.... I've tried a gazillion diets, and I'm good at losing weight - short term.I'm a disaster when it comes to maintaining. I'm done with short term. I'm starting with with small lifestyle changes I can maintain - walking each day, not eating after 7pm, getting my water in. My husband is wonderful - but really doesn't get my journey right now. Love some fitbit friends 🙂

Your life sounds like my life until recently. My daughter is away in college and my son has his drivers license and his first job. So, now what? I am on a quest to find myself. My identity for 20 years has been mom. I will always be mom (my favorite job ever!), but now I have time for me. My kids gave me a fitbit for Christmas, and I am loving it. I have about 75 pounds to lose as well. I have been reading the boards and joined a few groups, but I am not sure where to go from here.
I am starting yoga on Monday (Jan 5th) and a walking club on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I have joined a gym and am working up the courage to go it alone. My husband is wonderful and willing to change his diet along with me, but he is not really feeling the gym.

Hi. Your story could be mine. Busy mother of two with a full time career. My day to day "mom" activities are slowing, since both my boys are in university now (one living at home, one away). I've also had a lot of short-term weight loss success, but I can never manage to keep it off. So, I am also trying to approach things differently this time - focussing on positive lifestyle changes rather than weight loss goals.

Hi there!
Another busy mom here. Do you find yourself hating dinner time? My kids are so picky (totally my fault) but they never want to eat anything healthy! I always have to make a separate meal for my youngest, who is autistic (brown and orange foods only!!!), so I don't want to have to make separate meals for myself too. I just got my fitbit and I'm hoping to at least manage my snacking and portion control until I can ease my other children into healthier eating. I should really lose about 90 lbs., but I'd be so happy with 50! I'd love to join up with anyone who wants to start some challenges and exchange ideas for healthier eating.

Hey Everyone, I have 79lbs to lose. I have a sit down job and a long commute. My job is very stressful. I also have empty nest syndrome. I am just getting over plantar faciitis (spell?) in both feet. All I have ever been able to keep doing on a regular basis for exercise is walk. So that has been a struggle. I have had high blood Pressure, Cholestorol, low tyroid for several years now. When I went to the doctor a couple of weeks ago she told me I was pre- diabetic. That was an eye opener. Hopefully I can retire soon and be in the position to move more. Good Luck to everyone!!
