New to this weight loss thing

ANSWERED
Always been thin. Had babies and no longer thin. Need to lose at least 50lbs. Female:43.
If my calorie intake needs to be 1300 will it matter if I am under target after my burned calories for the day are added? It will say I am 500 calories left to eat but if I do that then I will have eaten way more than 1300 cal.

Hi Groundsquirrel, my experience is that if you aim for a constant caloric deficit (so you regularly eat under your daily allowance) you will lose weight.  I don't know if there is a magic number but I find that if I continue to be under by 500 calories for most days of the week I definitely lose weight.  If you are exercising a lot Fitbit adjusts your daily calorie allowance anyway which means you can eat more than usual, but best to stay under if possible. Hope that helps.
