Hi all,
I am Kerry, aged 36 and 4st over weight.I lost 6 stone in 9 months on the cambridge diet but couldn't maintain, went back to bad eating habbits and put 4st back on over 3 years so time to do it the hard way, learn good eating habbits and get healthy.
I joined a boot camp style class in January after being turned down for a hysterectomy as my BMI was 40. My doc says I have to get it down to 35, so I joined a fitness class called 5 star fit camp. It is completely out of my comfort zone and I could of cried after my first session as I struggled at ever exercise, I have signed up for 6 months and lost 7lbs in my first 4 weeks. Then my weight loss stopped
So I bought the fitbit to help me track everything and try and get my head round what my body is doing.
So here's what I do:
Fit camp 3 times a week 1 hour HIIT type exercises
couch to 5k app (30 mins running program) 3 times a week leaving 1 day to rest
Trying to eat as clean as I can so very little carbs if any they are brown, no dairy, no alcohol.
I don't drink tea or coffee anyway so thats not an issue
Food:
Breakfast: fresh fruit salad or 1 whole grapefruit hot water and lemon slice
Lunch: salad leaves, 1 chicken breast, lemon juice dressing
Dinner: 1 chicken breast, 1 bell pepper, 1 onion, handful of mushrooms, baby corn and passata made into some sort of soup with either herbs or spice
I also snack on 1/2 gluten free macaroon a day.
I try and hit my water target but I really struggle and I know that is a downfall so I am really trying to get on top of it.
I am losing inches, my clothes don't fit and my fitness levels have improved so much and I know this is what is really important but the scales have to move to get the operation I need.
So any ideas of where I am going wrong, I know I have more cals going out than in and that is what is meant to shift pounds surely. Maybe my poor body has gone into shock??

Hi Kerry, Sounds like you are doing all the right stuff and more! well done you :-). I am no expert
but are you building muscle? muscle weighs more than fat and that could be why your scales are
not moving...

I am hoping that this is the case, if it wasn't for the operation I would be happy to carry on and not even bother with the scales.
