Newbie looking for other working moms who love to run!

Hi! I am struggling to get back into running ( I can run a whopping 20 minutes at a time, very slowly). Anyone else out there in the same situation? Looking for friends for motivation and friendly challenges! I also need to lose about 30 lbs 🙂

I am pretty much in the exact same boat... I have 2 kiddos and work fulltime, I have an 11month old and before I got pregnant with her I was in amazing shape and training for a half marathon.  Now I am just struggling.. time balance and motivation are all getting the best of me.  I have had a fitbit for a few months and love it, but it would be nice to have a motvational partner.  I am looking to lose about 30lb too, I want to get back in my pre baby cloths:)

 

How are you looking to connect and get motivated? what works best for you?

Hi! I created a group Working Moms who Love to Run, in case anyone else wants to join, but we can communicate however you want. Do you want to do a daily check in with each other? PM? Still learning how to use this site :).

What is your running schedule now? I'm doing 20 min per day, and have a half marathon in 2 weeks ( we're doing walk run intervals this time :(. My last half was 3 years ago, and ran a marathon about 10 yrs ago. I have two boys, 6 and 9, but I remember the baby days well, and how hard it was to get a workout in! My 6 year old has a medical condition, is on a special diet, I don't get much sleep. I'm sure you don't get a whole lot either!

So excited!

im more on a survival schedule.. lol ... running is slim to none right now.  Im signed up for the rock and roll half in Denver in 2 weeks but wasnt going to run it because Im so out of the loop.  My work outs lately have been swiming like once a week and hot yoga a couple times a week, and circuit training once a week for like a half hour. 

 

Id like to run more but the weather is getting cold,, haha im such a wuss right now...

 

Id love to do a check in with you:) even if its just to hold me accountable to be active regualrly..

Hi, so sorry I haven't gotten back to you, still trying to navigate this site! I do a lot of rom my phone, and was having a hard time replying from there.

At least you're getting workouts in! That's great!

I took a rest day yesterday - once everyone is up this morning, and it gets light, I plan to try for a 30 min run today. We'll see how that goes :). How are your weekend workouts going?
