Not sure where to put this....

I wish the food logging were a little more painless. I counted the calories in the smoothie I made - but honestly, I have no wish to enter in all that stuff - I just want to note that I took in 335 calories. Who cares what the ingredients were? Not me. It's a numbers game. I'm too lazy to continually type in all that stuff - I just want to enter in the number. Why isn't this an option?

Agree completely. There should be a feature where you can add your own recipe and just enter the calories. For instance, my morning smoothie, I could put the protein, carbs, and fat (I do my macros, not calories), and still even put the calories. Then every morning I could just choose "smoothie" (or whatever I chose to name it) and it would be entered like any other food item.

I know other calorie counting applications allow this (such as "Lose It"), so I'm sure someone from Fitbit knows how to do it!

Can you do this by adding a "food item" in the logging section? (In Favorites, under "foods" tab, at the bottom there is a link for "create a new food". Then you can fill in calories and whatever other nutritional information; you'll need to put in a serving size.) I did this for a lot of my home-made foods. It will ask for a "brand" but I just put "homemade" or something. Then this item will show up in Favorites (under "foods" tab), and it should also show up in the search box when you go to log something.

You can also create a "meal" that is really a recipe for something, then all the ingredients show up separately when you log it, and it shows up in Favorites in the "meals" tab. (I've done that when I might alter the individual ingredients in a recipe from one time to another.)

Sorry if this isn't what you were asking about, but hope it helps!

I just got my flex 3 days ago and this is my first smoothie I've tried to log. I do not know how many calories are in each item, don't have time at work to look it up. So, I agree there should be something easier for this. How do you track 5 baby carrots, or 4 leaves of kale, 25 blueberries, etc... I am at a loss and getting frustrated because I want to log everything! Does anyone know? I know there are a lot of people making smoothies out there!!!

@Ukase   Are you talking about the web site or mobile app?  My Android app now has a "Quick Calories" button to just add the numbers...no ingredients.

I don't see the same feature on the web site.  You could create your own food on the web site and give it a unique name (i.e. "My Entry 8675309") and assign it 1 calorie for 1 serving.  This way you can search for the uniqueness and just log that food with how many "servings" (aka calories) you want to log...no ingredients.

@Armstrong If you make the same smoothie, take some time on the weekend to "Create a Meal", or even create your own food "My Kale/Blueberry Smoothy" with the calorie total.  Yes, you'll have to enter these numbers, but just once.  From there out, it's just searching for "My...Smoothy", 1 Serving, and done.

I'm talking about the website.  I had a fitbit months before I got a smart phone. Really, I can't even imagine using a smart phone to log calories..truth be told, all I use the smart phone for is to call and take calls and to play sudoku when I have to wait for something. It might be able to do a whole bunch of other things, but the screen is too small to make doing those things practical. All that pinching to make the words bigger or make the screen smaller, just to see the link you're looking for, only then it's too small to read.

I got it. Thank you for your help! I just logged everything separately, but wish I could create recipes a bit easier! Thank you!
