October 31st to November 26th 2020 Challenge

Hello and welcome to the 7th challenge of 2020!

We are celebrating our scaled and non-scaled victories and progress. Any one is welcome to join at any time, just hit reply on the most recent post and let us know a bit about yourself.

Following are some acronyms typically used by those who post. Some of us also track body fat or measurements, etc. please add those as you wish.

 

USW - Ultimate start weight

SW - starting weight for this challenge

CW - current weight 

PW - previous week's weight/weigh-in

LW - last weight/weigh-in

GW - goal weight for the challenge

MGW - mini goal weight

UGW- ultimate goal weight

UGW: 120 (mid-range normal BMI)

@TNJEN  I use stretch goal and goal for these challenges.  I set my goal as something I'd be reasonably happy with, it's a moderate goal that should (for me) be not hard to achieve.  My stretch goal is one that is still attainable, but usually only if everything goes right and I work at it diligently!  Also, not everyone uses each of these different acronyms...for example, I haven't used LW in the last 2 challenges because I don't really check in weekly.  If I was doing that, I might consider the LW & CW to post the weekly change.  Everyone does it a little differently, so find what works for you!

@Maggie  - Thanks for replying to @TNJEN.

Maggie is right on point with her answer! For example, if it's a 4 week challenge and your goal is to lose a pound a week, your goal would be 4 pounds less than your starting weight. If you choose to push yourself, your stretch goal might be 6 or even 8 pounds less than your starting weight.

LW can stand for either Last Week or Last Weigh-in weight (whenever that might have been). CW stands for current or most recent weight or weigh-in.

If I were to weigh-in today, my CW would be today's weight while my LW would be whatever my last weight was.

Again, you don't have to use all of the numbers. Choose what you are comfortable sharing or what works best for you. On another page I only have my USW (ultimate starting weight), LW (last weight) and CW (today's current weight) listed because it is an ongoing discussion page, not a challenge page.

I hope this all makes sense and keep asking if you don't understand something.

Had a total pig out day on Tuesday - Hubby and I took off work, voted early in the morning. Picked up a huge breakfast at IHOP, and then picked up a late lunch at our favorite crepe restaurant. They do monthly specials and November is a turkey dinner crepe that is awesome! The owners mother makes the turkeys, stuffing and gravy herself. The stuffing has butternut squash in it and it's served with gravy in it and on it and chunky cranberry sauce on the side. 

But, even with a day that had me stuffed, I still lost for the week. Must be doing something right.

Hello whoever else is out there! This is the final push for this challenge.

 

I had another bad choices week so am not surprised. I don't think I will make my goal weight in the next three days.

I've bee doing everything I know is self destructive.  Ridiculous to bring home a box or doughnut holes or the like.  I never "get away with it "  or frozen yogurt either.  AND this is the weight gaining season of most risk.  If we don't get the whole family together for a big Thanksgiving meal do we suppose we will eat fewer calories.  Maybe true but drink more?   LOL  I'm going to try to do better for Mon. - Wed. at least.  (I'm up 2 pounds since Friday)   How about you?

Seems like a few of us have had a challenging November.  I expected it to be tough with both a birthday and Thanksgiving which I knew I was going to allow myself to indulge (hopefully within reason of course!)  however I wasn't expecting to add being quarantined in the house for the whole month!  With a positive covid case in my house, I didn't have as many fresh veggies in the house as usual and I think I did stress snack a little bit more than I usually do.  I wasn't as strict in my logging food for a few days.  The little choices make a difference!  We are now all healthy and no longer house bound and now I'm hoping I'm back on track...kind of like a reset I guess.

@Maggie  - So glad to hear you are all healthy! 

 

I haven't been on the computer lately and apologize for the lateness of my logging. I will start the next challenge either later today or tomorrow. It will run until January 1st and I will post here with the challenge name as usual.

 

I did not end as well as I wanted to either. I lost my mojo the past few weeks and my eating choices always reflect that.

After talking to my sister-in-law about my recent weight loss success, I have re-found my drive and am looking forward to hitting my next goal. I am starting again on Monday in earnest (too many holiday goodies around right now).
