Hi there,
good luck with your weight loss plans, just remember to take it easy drink a lot of water / hydration drinks and watch your diet get lots of low cal snacks but before you eat drink 3/4 to 1pint of fliud. (NOT SODA) and see if you still "need" to snack.
I use the team beach body programmes they have really worked for me and you maybe able to find a local coach to help you out. If you are not used to extreme exerise try looking at 21 day fix, or even hiphop ab's. Do not try 'Cize it may look fun but it is a real beast hiding under some lycra and leg warmers. Once you start and compelte a program you will not look back.

Good morning. I am new to this too. I am 40. I started with 100 lbs to lose to get in my ideal range on the BMI scale. I lost 18 (in 2 months) before I had surgery for my silent reflux. Since surgery (4 weeks ago) I have lost 22 lbs. So I am sitting at 60 to get to my BMI range, but I would probably be happy with losing at a minimum 40 more.

Hi..I would love for you to join me and my buddy in our little friendly Fitbit competition. She just purchased and I have had my Fitbit since March 2015. The competition encouraged me to brave a nasty cold rain drizzle today to stay ahead. LOL Just the fact of having someone there to encourage you is worth a million and of course sharing meal plans etc. Please join us! Just reply and lets get started. I am in my 60's and I believe my friend is early 50's so that should even the score a little with you in your 30's. Don't let the age fool you I am proud to say I did over 25,000 steps today with Chelley in a close second.

In 2009, I got laid off from a job I loved a little too much. I weighed roughly 305 lbs and was in severe distress. I was well into type 2 with an A1C roughly around 6.5, trigs around 700 and cholesterol in the 290's. The first 70 lbs was easy to lose in the first 2 years and I am somewhat stuck in the 220's which is why I am tracking more carefully now trying to get down to 200. I am healthy though and can easily run a 5k and my mile time is back under 7 mins. My type 2 is still there but well in check with an A1C around 5.7 and my numbers are well under control...all without meds. You can do it....I am living proof.

Welcome @Rainofstars
Don't doubt yourself, I started out at 235 pounds in June of this year. I"m down to 199 as of this morning!! I could barely walk with all that weight on my 5'3 body, and didn't dare to dream about running. I'm in the middle of training for my 5k run in December. It is possible! Anything is possible if you focus and put your mind to it. If you need any help or motivation feel free to reach out to me!
Also make yourself feel good, don't follow the BMI chart or allow others to tell you what you should or shouldn't weight (unless it's your doctor). At 5'3 my ideal weight is in the 120's, my goal is 175. My high school weight when I was the peak of health and happy was 175. Listen to your body and how you feel about yourself!
Good luck and keep stepping!

Hi! Just wanted to say hi and wish you luck! I started at 258 (that was when I started with the Fitbit, I have been higher at times) at the end of May, I want to lose 100 as well, but would be satisfied enough just not being in the obese category. As of this morning I'm down 33.4 pounds, so I'm happy for today! It is maddeningly slow at times, it just stays the same for weeks. I'm old so maybe I have to be extra vigilant.
In any case - don't get discouraged if you find it slow and difficult, It's not a race down a track, where if you stumble you might as well give up - it's more like sailing a boat towards a destination - you have to keep tacking and trimming the sails and correcting your course as you go. Allow yourself to discover and eat whatever foods you enjoy, and which work the best for you. Eat slowly, savor your food, don't overeat.
For steps I get in extra by high stepping in place while watching television. Don't listen to anyone who tells you that doesn't 'count', it certainly does. I'll even dance and run around the kitchen while I'm cooking.

When I get to work or go to the store, I like to park as far away as possible. That gives me extra steps.

Since I have not indicated any health issues, I don't understand why you would post that question. Health issues are a private matter unless someone chooses to share. Are you trying to sell something?
