First of all, I'm new here so I apologize if there have been other posts like this but I couldn't seem to find exactly what I was looking for.
I just got my Fitbit Alta this week and I am LOVING it!! I have it set to lose one pound per week but yesterday I went over my calories by 1000!! Oops. So will Fitbit adjust my calories in/calories out for the rest of the week so I can still lose a pound? Or will I simply not lose this week?
Thanks!

You need to adjust a bit yourself like eating 200 calories less than the food plan for today, tomorrow & the weekend or if eating foods higher in calories and less natural foods (up your food intake with fruits, vegetables, eggs, fish, meat..).. those foods are lower in calories overall (but containing essential nutritients for the body), leaving satisfied for longer automatically than most prepackaged foods (higher in calories and still leaving hungry cause the body needing more nutritients)..
Don't starve yourself (if feeling weak, lightheaded, something's missing) even on natural foods.. eat when the body asks for (being hungry..).. giving a signal it needs more nourishment..
Feeling cold can also be a sign the body needs more cause it's fighting back when eating to little over a longer time, lowering the body temperature, trying to preserve energy).. since believing food is scarce and tries to survive on a lower calorie intake (to survive the famine until more food becomes available again).. the body is amazing. There's no famine, but the body doesn't know that if it senses getting to little over a longer time..

Over eating happens to us all on occasion. The key is to make sure you don't do it everyday!
There is some evidence to say what we eat over a week, is more important than what we eat in any one day. Within reason!
I'm assuming you are running a calorie deficit. So let say that you are doing a 500 calorie deficit. Since you over ate by 1000 calories, you really overate by 500 calories, and didn't have a deficit for yesterday.
So one day you might have gained a few ounces. As long as you are within your budget the rest of the week you should still lose some weight, just not as much because of the one day you were over.
You can cut back the calories in your diet over the next few days to make up for this. Or you can just go back to your normal diet and forget about it. I'd go with forgetting about it, and just keep going.
Keep in mind as a woman, never eat less than 1200-1300 calories a day. So if you decide to cut back, don't go below that!
Good luck and stay active.
