Did you mean:

Over budget, under budget?

I have been using the fitbit and logging my food for about 2weeks now. I am trying to loose weight and have my goals set at the 1000 calorie deficit. What do the under budget over budget calories in and calories out mean? If I choose the 1000 calorie deficit does that mean I have to burrn 1000 calories more than I eat and always end my day under budget? So far I am under budget for about 6/7days of full tracking.
I don't see any movement on the scale, but it is early yet so I will just keep at this pace and hope I'm doing everything right.

@Leescat - Fitbit will take your calorie burn into account when it's giving you a budget.  If you've set your deficit to 1000 then try and end your day in the zone (neither under or over).  If you are going to bed a couple of hours before midnight you may end up a little under, but I wouldn't worry about that.  As with any diet the calories in is a guess (even with a good tool) so keep doing what you're doing and in a few weeks you can adjust.

Also, I'm in the 'need to lose a lot' group so I'm not as good with advice for people who may only have a small amount of weight to lose.  However, 1000 calorie deficit may be too agressive if you don't have a lot of weight to lose.  I understand that those with less to lose may do better with a smaller deficit.

If you have a 1000 calorie deficiet, and you eat 2,000 calories in a day and burn 3,500 calories in that day, you are "under budget" -> you could have eaten more. Your total calorie deficiet was 1,500

If you have a 1,000 calorie deficiet and you eat 1,500 calories and burn 2,500 calories, you are "in the zone" with a 1,000 calorie deficiet.

If you have a 1,000 calorie deficiet, and you eat 1,500 calories, and you burn 2,000 calories, you are "over budget" because you ate more calories than a 1,000 deficiet from what you burned.
