Physique competitions

Has anyone gone through a physique competition? If so, could you help me with any tidbits you learned along the way?

I can only remember of two other Community members who have expressed an interest in taking part in a physique competition: @BatmansGrl13 (in this topic) and @nfinity (in this topic). Both are aspiring physique competitors, but maybe you can get some insight from them.

Although this forum is about weight management, it’s more geared towards reaching a healthy weight for normal people than prepping for a show for competitive athletes.

All the best in your endeavour, @MrPhysique!

I actually signed up for the competition to hold myself accountable to lose
the weight. The competition I signed up for isn't your normal physique
competition. Some compete like it's an NPC or IFBB. As I'm learning more
about it, it's more of a bikini competition, but also for people who have
worked hard to get in shape to show their progress in their fitness and
health journey. It's like my organization's showcase. So I probably
wouldn't be a good candidate to help since my goal in signing up was to
lose weight, though I am down from 178 to 137. So it's a heck of a
motivator!!

Thanks, BatmansGrl13! Your story is inspiring. I'm actually at my goal weight 165lbs from 207lbs. I want to compete because I want to see what my body would look like at its peak. I'm giving myself a year to prepare for the competition. The major issue I am having is the meal prep. I am in the learning stage of what to eat to maintain and build muscle. What is the name of your competition you're competing in? Is it located in GA? It really sounds like a great idea for a novice competitor.
