The game is simple
1) When you start off weighing food, stare at the food scale to make sure you don't go over.
2) When you hit the desired weight, take a good mental picture of what that portion size looks like. How high does it go in the bowl? Pick it up and feel it in your hand? How much space does it take on the spoon?
3) After you have weighed the same portion a few times, try measuring out what you think is the correct portion then weigh it. Over time and a lot of repetition you should find yourself being able to come pretty close to the portion size you are trying to achieve.
This is useful because there will be several situations where you don't have a food scale available like at a guests place, hotel, a restaurant, etc. but still want to come up with an accurate estimate.

Very good suggestion/Tips. Sometimes I wonder when I do the ballpark with my eyes whether I am on track or not.
Thanks. Will try this.
