I want to re-set the date and weight goal when I started my weight loss. But when I set the new weight, it re-calculates from today and does not allow me to preserve or otherwise enter any other date except for today.

@Tree16 @lrubbo You can do this on the mobile app. Tap on your profile picture/avatar > Activity & Wellness > Nutrition & Weight. You can edit your goal weight and starting date there.

Certainly, to reset the start date of your weight goal, you typically need to access the goal settings within your tracking or fitness app. Look for an option to edit or modify the goal details, where trackinglocate
you should be able to adjust the start date accordingly. If you encounter any difficulties, referring to the app's user manual or support resources can provide step-by-step instructions.

It seems like you're facing an issue while trying to re-set the start date and weight goal for your weight loss journey. It's frustrating that the system is recalculating from today instead of allowing you to choose a specific past date. To accurately track your progress, it's important to have the flexibility to set the correct start date. I recommend reaching out to the platform's support or customer service of spring. They should be able to assist you in preserving the desired start date and updating your weight goal accordingly.

Having the same issue - I don't see any option to set the start date. When I click on the weight goal there is only the option to set the goal, not the start date. (iphone)

When I change the date under the Activity & Wellness > Nutrition & Weight section, it won't save. Today is 1/8/24 and I set a new goal, but I want the start date to be 1/1/24. I change the date, but it won't save - it keeps going back to 1/8/24.
** UPDATE - I figured out that you also have to manually enter your starting weight on the PREVIOUS date (so I had to enter my starting weight on 1/1/24) for it to save the start date.

Hello - I am struggling. When I change the goal weight, the start date changes to today and the original starting weight also changes. I can change the starting weight, but the start date won't revert to the original date, only to about eleven months ago. Now that the Dashboard online is gone, how can I change the start date to the original date? Thank you in advance

Does anyone have a suggestion? Is Fitbit still supporting this?

I'm having the exact same issue. I've tried everything, and it is just messing up my stats.

I figured this out just before I was ready to abandon Fitbit after a decade of loyalty, because I was so frustrated over the lack of answers and support now that the online dashboard is gone. HERE IT IS:
Launch Fitbit App; From the dashboard, click the gear icon in the top right corner; scroll down to "preferences" and click "nutrition and weight"; set your desired start date and starting weight; click the "<settings" button in the top left when finished setting your desired starting date and starting weight; click "Done" in the top right corner to save your entries.
**Please note that to set your preferred start date, you MUST ensure that you have weight logged on that day and the day prior in your weight log. You MUST ALSO make sure that you set your starting weight in the setting screen is the same weight you put for those two days in your weight log. Otherwise, it will revert back to the previous starting date and starting weight when you exit.

Thank you so much for this! I have wasted so much time trying to fix this. Just wanted to add that if you’re logged in with Google, you’ll see your Google avatar rather than the gear icon.

You can edit the goal weight in the one currently labeled the best answer, but not the starting weight and you can't change the date.

This is the correct answer. Thanks. The one currently voted best answer does not work. Hopefully this one gets one more vote and replaces it.

@JRSJohn This is a relatively older post. Fitbit updates pages, paths, and the ability to edit data. It was the correct answer in 2023. If you can't change the start date for your weight goal, please start a new thread in the Android or iOS forum, depending on your platform. An app forum is a better fit for this issue. The two versions can be different.
