Hello all!
My name is Angie and I need to seriously start working on getting in shape. I've got about 90lbs to lose and that's no small task! I've had a FitBit Flex for almost a year now, and I've got the new ChargeHR coming soon. I need to start taking this seriously. I'd love if I had a few people I could do daily/weekly challenges with and chat with for support.
Please feel free to add me or reach out with any questions! FitBit screen name is Falangie and email is marchant88@gmail.com
Thanks guys!

Focus on being healthier, changing body composition by decreasing body fat while increasing muscle mass. This can mean being heavier on the scale while being at a healthy weight and body fat range. While actually being leaner and being / looking healthy / toned..
Focus being at a healthy weight range and body fat range, our bodies are constantly fluctuating in weight and changes going on inside like getting stronger muscles..
Eating / drinking during the day the weight increases due foods eaten, drinking fluids.. food being used as energy, weight decreases due the energy being used.. there can be food remnants inside the body from previous days being a few pounds,.. water upkeep from eaten to much salt or the body holding onto water to repair muscles or when it's warm outside needing all the water it gets to stay dehydrated.
See how you feel and look in the mirror.. if having reached a flatter tummy with a toned look though being heavier on the scale but it differs from your goal weight.. not necessarily to take to the extreme to loose more, ending up to see your ribs for example. Then your healthy weight can be a bit higher for precious body though being and looking healthy, fit, toned.. feeling wonderful about yourself and your body.
Have fun

Oh my @Falangie, hahaha! Does your user name come from Phoebe (Friends)? Awesome!
Well, first of all, welcome aboard. I'm sure that you will do fantastic achieving your goal. My recommendations is to stay positive, have a great attitude towards your good and not too good moments along the way. Sometimes we tend to think of the ending result and just start considering it's going to take too long to reach what you have in mind, but this is only your mind testing you. Keep up your motivation with rewarding yourself every now and then, for example, when you reach -10 lbs, treat yourself with an appointment in a nice spa for a relaxing massage, you'll deserve it! I'm sure this will give you the strength to keep on going, you'll see.
I wish the very best my friend!

Set small goals for yourself such as loosing 10 lbs, but also being able to run 3k. Make a plan on how you will achieve these goals. Don't be too harsh on yourself but do push yourself and think about your goals with everything you do. Does this bring me closer to my goals or not? Treat yourself (spa treatment, manicure, shopping, movie night etc). Share your goals with your family or friends who will support you!
If you need support from your fellow fitbitters, just add me as a friend.

Hi Angie! My name is Christine and I am new to Fitbit. I too am looking to lose about 100 pounds...ugh..is all I have to say. I have lost 12 so far in the past month and have 98 to go!! I have been overweight for several years and always wanted(thought) I would get back to where I had always been before marriage. I did not have the willpower, mindset...whatever it takes to lose 100 pounds until about 2 months ago. Something clicked inside of me. I'm not sure what..maybe I was just tired of being tired and feeling like crap. Maybe I was tired of not being able to tie my shoes?!? Whatever it was it lit a fire in me and now I am unstopable!! I totally changed my eating habits, stopped drinking soda and got a Fitbit!! I know it sounds stupid to a lot of others but I am so proud of myself for the 12 pounds I have lost and now I just want to do more and more! I encourage you to keep at it and don't stop!! Send me messages, e-mail me, what ever you need girl!! I do have to tell you I work 3rd shift , 12hrs a day so I might not respond as quick but I will be here...cheers...and happy stepping!!!!!!!!!!!

I too have a lot to lose. I look at short term attainable goals, but long term lifestyle changes. if you look at this as a one time fix and go back to old habits, you will not win the battle. Pick a plan, or an activity that you can do. I started out with my Dr telling me to walk 10,000 steps-5 miles a day. I never thought I could walk one mile with the knee issues I had, but in a matter of weeks I was doing it. I started with small goals, and worked my way up until the walks before and after work became part of my routine, I walked in the rain, I walked in near darkness and began to look forward to it. I have hit almost 10 miles some days. I do the treadmill in the gym at work now because getting in my 11K steps is part of my motivation. i work to eat right, no junk, and very few processed foods. I also try one new recipe or food at least twice a month so I don't get bored with what I am eating. whatever changes you make they should be ones you can make part of your lifestyle forever

If anyone wants support, you can add me as friends!
Think of it as a healthy lifestyle and not dieting. It will take some time, some days you will not eat a healthy as you could but you enjoyed it. Other days you will eat healthy and excersice, but don't overcompensate your bad days (you won't be able to stick to this your entire life) . So set small achievable goals that work towards the ultimate goal (a healthy lifestyle) and enjoy the process! Be honest to yourself and the results will most likely come 🙂

Good morning all!!
I've been working out since before Thanksgiving and lost about 15 pounds. I fell off during the holiday season in between Christmas and New Years but I've started hitting the gym once again (been there everyday since Jan.1st- today is my day off lol) and now I'm working on getting my diet back on track; starting my dad with half an apple and a banana with my coffee 🙂
I'm hoping to lose another 10 pounds by the time I go away to Indiana at the end of the month (1/30), I think it's do-able but I'm looking for support and friends to keep me motivated, I used to think it was corny but it really helps!! I follow body transformations and weight loss pages on Instagram as well. It's a huge help to see other people worse off than you are that can turn it all around 🙂
