Ready to lose 75lbs, Does anyone else want to join me?

I'm new to fitbit. I've been using it a few weeks now and I'm finally using the membership to my local rec center I've had for almost 2 years! I'm a busy mom and nurse but I've recently reduced my work hours and I'm determined to somehow finally make time to take care of myself between work, chauffering kids, going to the kids activities and housework. I have 75lbs to lose and I've been overweight since my first pregnancy 15 years ago. I've started going to Zumba and walking but I'm still struggling with my diet. I've made improvements but have a long way to go. I'd love to find support and people to challenge me and help me on my journey to fitness. Anyone else out there who would like to lose about 75lbs in the next year?

I've got 85-lbs left to lose, down 20. Working single mom with Tweens it's hard to find time. My work as a teacher keeps me stressed and putting in 20-hrs+ of overtime every week. I'm never in bed before midnight and up by 6 am. My challenges were finding/making time to exercise, skipping daytime meals, overeating at night, and wine. Since spring break I've changed all that and I'm finally feeling like I can do this within 1-year. 20-gone and I've stopped all overtime except essential planning and meetings, so about 5-hrs a week. Time for teachers like me to stop working for free on our family's time, and start taking care of ourselves instead of everyone else.

I hit the gym at night for at least 90 min, walk when I have to supervise at recess, walk at lunch. I walk/jog in place or back and forth when I watch TV. I got the Zombies, run 5km training app and the original, they are silly but make outdoor and track walks/jogs fun. I use MFP and Runkeeper as well. My step goal is 25,000 a day. A lot of it so far has been changing my mindset. I don't crave the crap foods and wine the same way now. And I'm getting stronger. I watch Extreme Weightloss while I'm at the gym to inspire and motivate me while I do my own 1yr transformation.

Sometimes you set your goals too high.

Go for one lb this week

One lb next week and make your goal obtainable and then you will not get so discouraged.

Also understand, that we being women, our weight is going to fluxuate 2-3 lbs due to water.

Inches are also victorys as well

Hi there! Count me in for this challenge!

This is the heaviest weight I've been even compared to the time I was pregnant.

I use to think I can always lose the weight but this time around, with work that puts me in front of the computer the whole day, 3 kids and a happy eater family, it's just really a struggle.

I lost about 8lbs first weeks I got my fitbit but then I'm stuck there now.

Eating more and exercising less, I feel like I'll never get to reach my goal.

I need help! I'm glad we have this community to support people like me.

Cheers!

Awesome Shortsbysummer! Sounds like you are doing great. I recently go the Zombies app too. I haven't used it yet but I have used the Walk app that I bought in a bundle with it. Silly yes but it makes walking in boring areas more fun. Once I've completed it and am in a bit better shape I hope to use the Zombies one.

Time to check in everybody! How's everyone doing?

I'm excited I've lost 7.9 lbs since in the month I've been working on my fitness (and got my fitbit). I've moved up my goal to 13,000 steps a day. I'm still doing Zumba. I've suceeded at making small changes in my diet. Eating better portions. More fruits and vegtables. I'm going to try and really buckle down over the next two weeks and lose about 3 more. My strategy for the next two weeks is to add in more of other exercises with the walking such as more Zumba, hit 13,000 steps everyday, and really work on hitting my water and sleep goals because they help me to have more energy and a more managable appetite.

Hi there... I have been doing good with my steps, but terrible with the diet. I went down by 2lbs and then a couple days later their right back on me again. Cat Sad With Mother's Day just passing, I was eating out every day over the entire weekend.

Congrats to you KandyKorn!! I think your accomplishment is great!! Keep that up. I have to find a way to get myself into the gym. I think if I take my gym clothes to work with me and go straight after work, I wont come home and and find 50 other things that I should be doing.

As far as my diet... during the day at work, I'm ok....it's when I get home where I break down.

Hi all

How is everyone doing ? I have lost 11 pounds since starting which I am delighted with . I am sticking to my 10k steps and keeping under calories every day . I have still got a long way to go but I am so pleased to have started the journey .

I am off on holiday at the end of July and I really want to have lost a good amount by then . If I can lose a stone on top of what I have already lost I will be happy . I know things will start to slow down now but I am determined to keep going .

Hopefully everyone else is doing well too !

Hi new friends... I started with FitBit about two weeks ago now and I want to loose 56lbs. I am finding that I am motivated by my own prgress - once I hit a certain number I WANT to do better the next day. I have introduced trail hiking and quick pace 3-4km walks to my days and and doing a decent job eating within the 1600 calories to reach my goal and have lost 2lbs in these two weeks - am I crazy or does that not sound like enough? Increaded exercise and better eating has only resulted in 2lbs? Need encouragement & tips to reach my goal!

Thanks,

e3abba

Got about 60-70 pounds to lose myself and like many of you, having a long-hours office job makes it really hard - I end up doing daily exercise sessions of some sort or another a lot now because there's zero chance I can do a 10k step goal per day in the hours I have - but an hour of exercise helps fill that void.

Been recently playing Badminton about 2-3 times a week and alternating that over the weekdays with hitting the gym for 30 minutes of walking+crosstraining and med intensity weight training to build a little muscle for better fitness and better metabilic activity overall.
