I'm looking to buy some new running shoes; I currently have a pair of Nike Flex I've had for about a year now, they're pretty worn down I've found that they really don't work that well for running/jogging on trails like I tend to. The soles feel too thin, and I can really feel the rocks on my feet. I was wondering if you guys had some suggestions as to good shoes for trail running or cross country. I don't particularly have a preference for brand, though i do find that Nike's tend to fit my feet better.

Hey there!
If you're serious about the trail running (which it sounds like you are), go get your feet fitted at a running/shoe store. They will help you get the best shoes for your feet. I thought my friends were over-exaggerating on the difference it made but, alas, they were correct. If you haven't done that yet, give it a go!
But to actually answer your question, I've had the best luck with Brooks, New Balance, and Asics, in that order. Also, if you tend to baby your shoes so they really aren't that worn by the time you realistically need new ones (which is about every 6 months - 1 year, depending on which shoes you buy and how hard you are on them), ask if they sell replacement soles for the pair you like. It won't double your shoe life, but they will last a bit longer and keep your feet (and back... and knees...) happy
