Every year i find myself falling short of reaching my New Years goals.... maybe a little more of just short. Breaking habits is never an easy thing, so why not start early!?
Starting October (or even today!), Im going to give myself a nice running start to get my butt into gear for my New Year Plans. Im going to set a few simple goals, just enough to "set my base" and build my foundation that my New Years goals will be built on.
The Goals of my foundation will be:
Id love to have some friends join me. Lets support each other and let this be a place where one can come to get advise and encouragement! Maybe list some of your own goals and keep us updated along your journey.
And remember,
every fail is another chance to rise agin

I think those are solid, manageable goals. I'll join in on this ...
Foundation Goals:
1. Drink more water ... I'm going to set my goal to a minimum of 80oz per day. I have about a hundred pounds to lose so that's definitely not overdoing it on water.
2. Read more - and I don't mean from a screen. I want to start reading more actual books. So that I sleep better I'd like to turn off all my screens an hour before bed each night and spend that last hour simply reading a book.
3. Make a solid effort to cut my sugar intake at least by half. I know myself well enough to know that going cold turkey on sugar is not going to work (for me). So, if I can start making small changes on how much sugar I consume, I may be able to trick my body and my brain into gradually decreasing my sugar consumption.

Hi there - I know this is an old post but I think we have similar fitness goals for 2017 and I'd love to connect to check in with each other and encourage one another.

@kelleyviolets- when looking to see if someone is around from an older post it can help to flag their names in your responses. This way @bowensxx and @iMike might be more likely to see it and respond.

So I kind of took a break from my FitBit for a few months. October, November, and December have been very difficult but I'm ready to jump back in after dealing with some depression and heavy financial issues.
I have not done very well with my sugar intake. A lot of it comes from the fact that I cannot cook in my tiny, tiny kitchen. I had to move into a tiny, shoebox of a studio apartment in June so I didn't even bother unboxing all of my kitchen stuff. I've done better on the water intake and I've read a few books - actual books.
It's time to jump back on the train, however. 2016 has been exhausting and depressing for several reasons and I need to grab 2017 by the stones and make it my year.
