Save calories up for the weekend?

I just ordered my first Fitbit (charge 2). I have been using myfitnesspal pal for a while, and my technique has been to take in about 1500 calories a day, but also exercise each day, essentially “stockpiling” calories for larger meals on the weekend. The running tally/overage balance was visible in weekly macros on MFP, and I want to know if there’s a similar feature in the Fitbit app.

I apologize if this has already been addressed... I couldn’t find it if so!

Thanks!

Tim

Hi @EVLFNL,

Sorry, there isn't a weekly under/over counter for calories and macros built in to Fitbit. Some people with advanced tracking needs use MFP over Fitbit's food tracking. But you won't see that information on the Fitbit app side.

Thank you VERY MUCH for the information! Sadly, it might determine whether I keep the tracker or not, but we shall see.
Thanks again!

Have you connected your Fitbit account with your MFP account?

I'm also going to move your none hardware question to the weight k management discussion board. This would be a better place, since you might not be the only one.

Hi Rich,

I actually haven’t even received my Fitbit yet. It should be arriving tomorrow. I realize that you can sync the two databases, but I was really looking forward to a replacement so that everything was self-contained. Frankly, I’ve had great luck with mfp, and the few bonuses of including the Fitbit don’t justify the cost. I’ll certainly keep tabs on the situation and would be quick to reconsider if the weekly calories/macro difference were reconciled!

Thanks!

Tim

You have a Fitbit account, you don't need a tracker to connect the two accounts.

By having them connected MFP will know your activity many feel this is the best of both worlds.
