Serving size, the nutrition facts do not update

There is an error in the nutrition facts summary. I searched the forum and did not see mention of this elsewhere.

For example, I can add just one item in my log for the day (egg nog), with a serving size of .25 cups, which has 3 grams of protein. It will show correctly in the macronutrients summary as 3 grams of protein.

But when I click the Nutrition Facts link it gives totals for the full serving size of .5 cups, in this case 6 grams of protein, based on the suggested serving size and not the actual serving size logged. Additionally, it will continue to compound the suggested serving sizes throughout the day based on the suggested size.

The correction to this error would be for the nutrition fact summary to show the actual nutrition based on the actual serving size consumed.

I have the same issue. I can update my serving size, and the nutrition facts do not update.

Hello @Wrldtrvlr, @ChristineJohns, welcome to the community forums! Thank you for the information and the troubleshooting steps you've followed!

Thanks for bringing this to our attention! To better assist, can you please let me know the model of the mobile device you're using? Have you tried to log your food on the web Dashboard?

In the meantime, please try the following steps and let me know if the issue persists:

  1. Force quit the Fitbit app.
  2. Make sure that the Fitbit App is up to date.
  3. Reboot your mobile device.
  4. Log out and back into the Fitbit App using your account credentials.

I look forward to your response.

@Wrldtrvlr, thank you for following the troubleshooting steps!

We're always striving to improve our services offered. In this case, you may want to manually edit it the nutrition facts by doing the following:

- Go to your online Dashboard

- Tap on Log > Choose the food log (egg nog)

- Select it > click on Customize this food

- Enter the correct info > Save

Thank you for your patience. See you around.

It's actually supposed to be that way.

When you click on the Nutritional Info, it's for the item, like the label - not your serving size of it.

It's to allow a quick compare that the label in your hand matches the "label" data in the database.

But maybe you don't have the label in your hand, and want to know the official serving size.

Because there is no way on the Nutritional Info screen to change the serving size, it's a static entry. Yes, they could have made it an option.

So this is more a feature request than an issue though.

While on the Nutritional Info screen, if you'll mostly be doing your own serving size of it - click on Customize this Food.

Give a new name to find in your personal list based on serving size perhaps to find quickly, and there you change the serving size.

Now when you click on that personal item - you get the desired info for your desired size.
