So, the ADA is full of hogwash? I use their guidelines regularly.
What do you think? That, and portion control are my main go- to guidelines.
What do you do?

As someone living with diabetes (admittedly not under control), a nurse, and somebody who has done a LOT of reading on the subject, I would have to wonder why their recommendation for a hemoglobin a1c is 7%. The American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists recommends 6.5%. Why doesn't the ADA shoot for lower numbers?

Actually. I measured 6.8 and my Dr said not to bother going lower. Overall, it wouldn't matter I guess. A1C in the 6's shows control. Now, I am at 7 and he put me back on Metformin. Ugh
