I am a 50 year old female who is to be totally honest, not doing any excersizing. I need to loose 50 lbs for my health (I have already lost 34 without excersize). I am wondering what a good goal for my steps per day should be. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

Your fitbit defaults to 10,000 steps a day. It depends on how fast you want to lose and what your goals are. I average 12,000 per day but I have been on this road since last April. I have lost 74 lbs as of today and will be running my second 5K in March. I jog on the treadmill but there's lots of ways to get your steps in, it's really just a matter of getting up and around. Housework, walking the dog, dancing in your living room can all contribute to your numbers. I have average 2 lbs a week loss.

Thanks! I have never been a runner but have walked in the past and am hoping to do so again. With the weather here at or below 0 with wind chill and me with Asthma I am confined to the indoors for the time being. I am trying to get to the mall and those kind of places (as long as I don't stop in the stores LOL). You sound like you are really doing well, and that is a real encouragement for me.
